11/9/2010 20:13 | I hope so. I've owned these since a badly timed purchase in March 07.. happily in profit now. | martinc
11/9/2010 13:28 | Remained cheap for a while here Martin C - rather illiquid but goes up in leaps on breakouts so due some action - reckon the results should be the catalyst. CR | cockneyrebel
11/9/2010 12:59 | Jd share price is a little choppy but next week should be good for retail stocks (fingers crossed) imo and provide a solid platform for a rise into results. | simon42
10/9/2010 22:42 | JD must appeal to the same people as Cape! | martinc
10/9/2010 12:16 | Bought a few back today ahead of the results. CR | cockneyrebel

01/7/2010 09:05 | Purely for the record, I've been selling out of my holding here over the past few days and concluded yesterday. Still think it's a decent stock and will do well but with England falling outof the WC, and barely making much of an impact when they were there, I thought now might be the time to leave a little in it for the next guy. Now watch it motor.... ;-) Pretty cashy still overall, with markets looking fairly unattractive and volatile. Good luck to all holders. | cwa1

10/6/2010 22:45 | The current discount on JD Sports (JD.) is too severe, according to FinnCap, which increased its forecasts for the firm as well as raising the target price from 1,020p to 1,075p. The broker raised its like-for-like forecasts for both divisions of the group for the first half of the year, with Sports now forecast to have 5% growth (from 3%) and Fashion sales now expected to decline by 1% instead of the original 3.5%. However, FinnCap refrained from making forecasts for the second half of the year due to the upcoming Budget, and it also pointed out that the limited liquidity of the stock is likely to weigh down its performance. It said that in the light of the latest example of JD's tendency to outperform expectations, the discount is unwarranted. The 'buy' stance was unchanged. JD shares lost 26 p to 754p. | aishah
09/6/2010 19:47 | JD Sports (JD.) said that it had seen an improvement in sales growth in the eight weeks to 5 June. Like-for-like retail sales growth of 4.1% was more than double that for the ten weeks to 10 April, with world cup enthusiasm aiding a 5.1% rise in sales in the Sports business, although the Fashion business sales fell by 2.1%. Seymour Pierce argued that, on a current PE of 7.2 for 2010/11, the stock was still significantly undervalued, and the broker kept to its 'buy' stance. The shares lost 3.5p to 777.5p. | aishah
09/6/2010 17:26 | Hi Mick They don't seem outrageouly expensive to me on the fundies and today's statement is about as good as it gets. I feel that with the world cup in the offing we should get at least one more set of decent figures before any sh1t hits the fan. Will have my eye on the exits from now until the end of the year though and will be off like a shot at the first sign of trouble! Sitting on exceptionally high levels of cash at the moment as I was lucky enough to sell off in large scale back in April. Frustrating to not be in but just looking out for the right opportunities. Bought some BP today though :-( Diary is jam packed at the moment with child things, holidays, etc, etc, but it would be good to get back together some time in Glasgow when the busy season is over for a beer :-) C | cwa1

09/6/2010 08:33 | Morning CWA1 When you look at the value elsewhere in the market, do you think JD are now well up there at fair value or have more to go? I'm no longer holding as you would expect but keep an eye on them, when are you next taking a jaunt into Glasgow city centre and spending some off them profits you have and I might even buy you a beer. 09/6/2010 08:10 | Good AGM statement out today, with like for like sales improving, which augurs well for the rest of the year. While a rise in VAT may put a dampener on growth, they look on course to meet expectations. | daz
25/5/2010 11:30 | I'm out for a small profit, can't see retail benefitting from increased taxes. | chector177

28/4/2010 17:27 | WOW!! don't you just love this company. Bought in at 688p on the 12th April. I'm loving the share price move. I guess there will be a pull back after the results but roll on the World Cup. | chector177 |
