Its good to see Jarvis are still cost concious, no glosy Finacial Statement from them, just plain white paper held together by one stapple :) .

Also good to see a third 'offering' from the company this year. I would'nt know how much Jarvis get paid, but it's good for me and hopefully going forward we get offered more and maybe I can find that gem i keep looking for.

Regards

EDIT: make that four, an IPO for DFS.

Possibly dividend investors, moving on after it went XD, started the fall, coupled with the "game of two halves" statement causing doubts.

Small cap news: broker keen on Jarvis Securities

WH Ireland reiterates ‘Buy’ Jarvis Securities with 560p target price

by Christopher Menon,  February 16, 2015

House broker WH Ireland has re-issued a bullish ‘buy’ recommendation with a target price of 560p on Jarvis Securities (AIM: JIM). The AIM-listed firm is due to announce its full year results for the year ended December 31, 2014 on February 19.

In a note issued today, WH Ireland analyst Nick Spoliar wrote about the financial services company: “…we note JIM’s announcement last week of a Q1 3.75p dividend (our full year forecast: 17.3p). JIM has a transparent dividend policy (66% of net profits distributed), underpinning the significant attraction of the, at present, c.4% yield.

“With quarterly weighting varying from year to year, it is hard to read much into the fact that 3.75p represents an unchanged dividend per share year-on-year, particularly since the 2014 full year dividend bounded ahead of 2013 by some 14%. JIM’s model is to provide a cost-effective, flexible and competitive offering while consolidating on wins in the separate business, which focuses on financial administration, settlement and custody services to brokers and investment managers.”

OK thanks. What did you do?

pvb - you viewing in Chrome? Try Firefox if not IE. Like I said, this is an issue brought on by recent Chrome and Opera updates. I've changed nothing and there was no problem reported previously.

edit: how's it looking now?

Switch to IE? You must be joking!

There is a big blue 6 ft long bar at the top of this thread, followed by a lot of blank space then posts which are the same length.
Every other thread I see is fine.

pvb - looks normal to me, but I'm told something changed recently to Chrome and Opera browsers which is beyond my ken. Try switching to IE or Firefox.

So even less relevant to reality then. I didn't check before posting. Thought it did sound peculiarly low.

What has happened with this thread's formatting?

Thanks Pastybap, I missed that bit.

I'm thinking 10p was too cheap !!

Hi tenapen. 10p is the nominal value of each share and is pretty meaningless in relation to John Laing's valuation. The actual price of each share will be in the range 195p - 245p.

What is striking in the issue price of the John Laing company, 10p. Why would it be so low ? and would that be seen as a good price
with plenty of room to rise and little room to fall.

Nothing about JL but just to point out that a share can rise or fall 10%, 50% or 100% just as easily whether it is priced at £10 or 10p.

Hi,
I am just looking at the IPO's advertised on the Jarvis web-sites. I work in construction so i know first hand how busy companies are. What is striking in the issue price of the John Laing company, 10p. Why would it be so low ? and would that be seen as a good price with plenty of room to rise and little room to fall.

Thinking allowed but any thoughts would be most appreciated.

Best Wishes to All.

Interesting company in terms of opportunities but there technology sand features of their trading facility now look very datedJust moved our company account away as quite poor serviceIf they overall their technology and introduce an iPhone & Android App they will certainly start to move forward as lots of opportunities out there to increase market shareAt the moment their proposition does appeal to younger tech savvy investors which is a great shame
