02/3/2016 17:21 | dku, It would be nice to hear your reasoned mathematical argument for £14 ------? | roddiemac2
02/3/2016 15:41 | few sells coming in at £11 | dlku
02/3/2016 15:40 | but its nice to have a proper valuatioon, and £14 is where i think this will get to quicly | dlku
02/3/2016 15:02 | dku, As someone who believes FSJ may be the share I can hold for a lifetime, I have little interest in short term price movements except to occasionally top slice or add as the opportunity presents . I have held FSJ for fourteen years. It only takes one good investment idea to transform a portfolio, and FSJ has already done that for me. I have been overweight in these from the outset. The real money is invariably made long term; strange then that so many funds only hold a share for about two years. That seems about the average length of time that applies. | roddiemac2
02/3/2016 13:26 | a welcome thought... | emeraldzebra
02/3/2016 13:12 | should get to £14 | dlku
02/3/2016 11:56 | positive stuff. i think with the increased divi and better sentiment - perhaps little to stop this getting well into the £ 11's/12's. now | emeraldzebra
02/3/2016 09:07 | The Galloper Wind Farm contract should lead to more business once complete. Considerable investment is being made in Lowestoft to enable the port to handle the increased workload . At the end of October last year it was announced --- "The European Investment Bank, Europe’s long-term investment institution, has agreed to provide GBP 225 million for the Galloper Wind Farm Ltd (GWFL) to be constructed 27 km off the Suffolk Coast. Once operational the offshore wind farm will be capable of providing enough clean energy to supply up to 336,000 homes from 56 of the world’s largest wind turbines. The project also represents the UK’s first pre-construction offshore wind project finance deal." | roddiemac2
02/3/2016 08:43 | Have not had time to read results thoroughly, but whilst the damage in the Offshore Oil division has been greater than expected ( Underlying operational profit in the division down from £22.4m to £ 7.4m ) , FSJ`s strength in diversification shines through. More when I have studied the figures in more detail: meanwhile , happy to hold . | roddiemac2
02/3/2016 08:15 | Ok value below £10 | phillis
02/3/2016 07:18 | Full year results look more than ok to me. Dividend up too. Suet | suetballs
09/2/2016 00:05 | illiswilgig, I agree with you. here are the last two posts on another site-- The most recent is mine-- 10:57 08/02/2016 pending results The shares are down with the general market, but in small volume. if markets continue to decline , (a distinct possibility), few shares will escape the carnage. However FSJ is a well diversified company with long term growth prospects . We have been forewarned about the short term. It is not wise to presume anything in this game . Depending on results, I might add beneath 900p. 12:12 04/02/2016 J Fisher I presume that investors are nervous about the full year results. Are they right to be nervous? | roddiemac2
08/2/2016 14:10 | Quite right gucci - I topped up when it hit 950p a few months ago and am happy to hold. Article in the DT today that upto 1/3 of UK oilfield service firms could be wiped out resulting in lots of attractive opportunities for acquisitions. The firms that remain standing are likely to emerge in better shape for the future. Leaner and more efficient in albeit a smaller market but with far fewer players. FSJ cashflow from its diversified businesses (particularly its tankships) makes it one of the few firms that can take advantage (and has already been doing so). In the short term the share price suffers from being associated with the oil services sector as well as the general market markdowns. In the longer term when the demand for oil support services picks up again then FSJ stands to do very well having reinforced its leading positions in various technologies. Meanwhile nothing in the current prospects of the company has changed significantly or we'd have a trading update (now there is a hostage to fortune of a statement if ever!) cheers | illiswilgig

01/1/2016 19:05 | Emerald, No news that I am aware of, but as long term investors here have already seen ,the real money is usually made long term. In an uncertain world ,FSJ looks to have good long term prospects. A happy and prosperous new year to all of you. | roddiemac2
31/12/2015 10:58 | er, Wow. anything in particular behind quite a bounce ? i am a sleepy dinosaur so probably havn't noticed some news. | emeraldzebra |
