Actually.....

With WORK FROM HOME

The numbers of viewers must be going up for DAY TIME TV...

Perhaps ITV has been making money hand over fist during this period if there is any link between cost of advert and numbers of people watching a particular day time TV program

Does anyone have the DAY TIME viewing figures since MARCH?

You may be right Ham,but they said that in 1999 and then the tech bubble burst spectacularly....But you are right USA retail is on average pretty stupid, so the valuations may last a while, but when they eventually crack it is not pretty.Do not think we have to worry too much about the UK as we have massively underperformed and will be getting very interesting to US Institutional asset allocators who see the double whammy of value and a strong £ if they invest their $ in the UK market.Flow of funds is a very powerful thing.

Tricky. I bet the US tech sticks get sold for a day or two, then they all jump back on board again, when seen as value in their eyes. Nothing can stop the US tech train IMO.

Looks like the long overdue US correction may finally be upon us.Apple being wort more than the whole FTSE 100 was a classic sell signal.

discodave was laughed at and hated in equal measures on CNA board. Laughed at for rubbish he posted and hated for bullying and posting in delight when folks were losing money. Not a nice man FACT.

Truth is he is not. He is argumentative big head and bully. He is now showing his true colours.

Not trying to pick an argument or questioning your stock picking skills, don't know why you would think that tbh, just posting up facts and my views......which is what a balanced thread should be about, not constant ramping / deramping. Apologies if somehow you feel I've offended you by simply disagreeing with what you posted.I'm sure folks can decide for themselves what's what.Anyway, all the best.

Discodave: if you check my record I have made quite a bit of money on netnet stocks (eve beds and French connection in recent times. I'm also in Triad - really high cash no real debt. Or of course WGB - also great NAV).
You're trying to pick an argument when there is none to be had. Good luck to you fella. Enjoy the rise of ITV - it's looking good to me . I see this going to £2 over year or two

'It doesn't look at all your assets.'Agree.But if you and net want to ignore their level of net debt and their ability to meet their associated covenants and financial obligations during a period of declining income and cash generation then fair enough, but most long term investors won't be, including me (not here day trading but longer term). Institutional investors won't be so inclined to put their money into companies that have to fund high levels of debt during a recession, they will be cherry picking those that have zero debt and greater financial stability. If you think there are no UK companies with zero debt then tbh I'm amazed.....there are lots!.Just wanted to provide some balance on here, from those saying they have £2.4bn of debt and to others saying they have zero debt and it's not important.

Net debt doesn't mean too much if you got good income, profits and assets. Then there are other things to take into consideration. All above my head. Ability to serve debt, debt terms, debt to equity ratio, EBITDA ratios, blah blah, blah.
It's just comparing all your debts against your cash in bank and cash equivalents. What company has more cash in the bank than debt, except maybe Apple ;)
It doesn't look at all your assets.

'there is no net debt in the sense, assets are greater than liabilities.'If you believe they have no net debt and it's meaningless then you am I, or their accountants, auditors, banks, credit agencies, II's, etc., to disagree.Yes they have a positive NAV, but as I've already posted, that is not a measure of their net debt or their ability to fund that debt and/or remain solvent.Last word and all the best.

Agreed Ham, a bun fight may well commence.
ITV have a lot of content that a big player may want.
