What would a takeover price be I wonder in the current environment? I'm thinking 80-90 pence. I hold as a believe the company remains undervalued.

STV is now at a price it last was at on the last day of June 2020.
On the last day of June 2020 ITV was about 72p.
If we catch up with STV we will have to rise to 72p
Seems unlikely we can achieve that today (lol) but it
might be possible by the end of the month?
What are your views?

STV up again on top of yesterdays near 10% rise. Come on ITV we're lagging a long way behind.

If ITV is around 60.30 near the close then I think it is time to top up.

it is obvious that this is heading higher - look at the trade pattern, this could easily get to 60 imo

buywell3: re: netdebt: how do you calculate that. I was looking at 2020 accounts:
total assets: £3,691m
total liabilities: £2,727m

eg there is no net debt in the sense, assets are greater than liabilities.

“Ultimately, it seems very likely to me that ITV will eventually form part of someone else’s global scale play,” says Enders. “It looks inevitable and the Covid crisis will have advanced those arguments.”

If ITV can just stay above 57p then it will be a really bullish sign for me.

buywell3: But poor people can watch ITV for free (its adverts that pay) whereas Netflix costs about £6 a month. The poorer the world gets the more people will cancel Netflix subs and watch ITV...

COVID-19 crisis: Australia's economy takes sharpest dive since in the Great Depression, contracts 7 per cent

The World is in a Global Depression

A tad worse IMO

OECD figures show the average contraction among countries in the June quarter was 9.8%, including a 20% slump in the Britain, a 14% downturn in France and a 9.1% drop in the USA

At the darkest moment in the Covid19 era ITV was trading at 55p-ish.....
We might go to that today or bounce higher.

But one must assume this is about the bottom or otherwise one must assume
sellers are trading on inside information which is illegal.
A long just assumes a forward PE of about 3.5 to 4 for a DIGITALLY GROWING COMPANY (eg Britbox) is insane, we should have a PE equivalent of Netflix.

STV was up 10% most of yesterday... With a story not quite as good as ITV. We were down 6%.
