I agree - Advertising markets have improved significantly since Q2 but there is no update scheduled from ITV until late November.
Let’s hope the analysts build the improving advertising outlook into their numbers and we get some upgrades ahead of November.
Hopefully the move into the FTSE250 will also provide some support over coming weeks.

Off topic: Where can you get a list of FTSE 250 SUB-Sectors (eg every share and its SUB-sector)?
What I'm looking for is an ICB number next to a ticker symbol... Cant find it anywhere on line.

Also if anything was about to happen, I guess that the weekend press would get a hint. In any case, I still struggle to see this remaining 'independent' at this price.

ps - I've been watching the WOLF HALL (Booker prize winning) TV series on BRITBOX. Its excellent. Its about Anne Bolyn, Henry 8th, Thomas More, Cardinal Wolsey and the main protagonist Thomas Cromwell (an ancestor of Oliver Cromwell).

This news item explains why ITV advertising probably picking up in AUGUST:
From article:
"
On the Guardian’s latest monthly tracker of economic news since the pandemic spread to Britain this spring, the release of pent-up demand with the easing of lockdown is driving the sharpest rebound in economic growth among the G7 advanced economies, while retail spending has returned to pre-crisis levels.

A share price can go anywhere, if the fear or greed is strong enough. I don't think you'll see 40's without some kind of Covid catastrophe ... which to be honest I don't see happening. The country has opened up quite a lot and the death rate and hospital admissions are very low. The people who'll contract this virus in the future are likely to shake it off easily or not even be aware they have it. I reckon we've passed peak Covid, time will tell?

I can’t believe we have someone quoting Cineworld on here. What’s that all about Boix?
You appear to have gone Cineworld crazy? How much have you lost?
As the previous poster has mentioned reduced capacity, no one wanting to sit in a dark room with others coughing and spluttering tells you only one thing, little to no revenue.
Big releases are being withheld whilst they watch this unfold. Surely the majority will find it more profitable to go straight to streaming?
Not investing in ITV for a while myself, more chance of further falls given it will fall out of the ftse 100 shortly. May consider getting back in at low 40’s, all depends.

Not sure what the good news for Cineworld is? They are highly levered, people seem terrified to sit in cinemas, and there are few blockbuster releases. That is one business that will take long to recover, and hopefully it can stay liquid in the meantime. You'll make a lot of money if it does.As for ITV, the WPP update did state a revival in advertising, that we were past the worst? That suggests McColl's tentative positive noises in the last update may not be wide of the mark. 2020 has been dismal so far but if we are turning the corner we might see a strong finish.
