19/8/2016 13:05 | I don't think theres the same issues in central north sea where Stella is compared to west of Shetland. Area looks fairly calm today and its been done many times before. I think by Christmas oil should be flowing. Ithaca say subsea work is complete and the 5 wells tested at 53k bpd, I think that bodes well. | whiskeyinthejar
19/8/2016 10:04 | agree lotta risk still on fpf-1 premier oil had solan rig in place but hit delays problems when gettin it all hooked up first oil in november look optimistic first oil will not be 30k+ as they gotta bring wells on line gradually not get all the 16k net to ithaca until jan or feb i reckon | fsawatcher
19/8/2016 09:22 | Agreed, the lead time on a valve should be such to get one installed now, or at the very least, they should have come up with a cunning plan on how to do the tie-in with no/minimal downtime. Fingers crossed that all is good with FPF-1, then Medium-long term the cheap acquisitions within the hub area and pipeline access are going to be the cash cow that could drive Ithaca on to greater things. I suspect (poo otherwise) we'll be roughly in the 65-70p price until confirmed Stella is good. Year end, poo willing, hopefully we'll be nicely aligned to see a good rise in share price | rich73
19/8/2016 08:03 | FSA - since they now know they will be going the p/l route they ought to be able to install a tie-in valve now (or certainly before production commences), and there'd be no shut in period required... perhaps only to remove the tanker loading facilities, but this could be scheduled for a planned shut-in period. This would be my plan anyway.... | steve73
19/8/2016 07:57 | how long do they ave to suspend stella production to connect to pipeline? days or weeks work ? cost benefits good long terms but wot cost to rev in 2017 ? it aint goin to be a 5 min job | fsawatcher
19/8/2016 07:42 | I still feel the importance of the pipeline access is being underestomated by the market. One must consider not only the benefit to current production but also future production for many years. Ithaca needs to pull their finger out and release more details about bringing Harrier on stream, the market needs to be whipped into realising what Ithaca are sitting on here. Their ability to play hard ball on acquisitions right now while the industry is on its knees will also see massive long term value. | binarypilot

19/8/2016 06:42 | BC is now over $50 a barrel and WTI is on $47. Another 22 days until St Leger day.... Saudis are making noises about turning the taps off. This is slowly looking like it is coming good at just the right time. | joestalin
18/8/2016 20:32 | Brent now at $50.88 :~} | bountyhunter
18/8/2016 18:09 | Ithaca Energy confirmed it was in talks to boost its North Sea portfolio. Chief executive Les Thomas said the firm was “patientlyR “We want to do more acquisitions in the area,” he said. “It’s important for us to be patient so we can acquire the right reserves and resource for the right price.” The company boss said it was targeting prospects both within and out with its Great Stella Area (GSA) hub. “We think we have gotten the company in decent shape from a cost and sustainability perspective and going forward we can look at other opportunities.” The company insisted the North Sea was not a “one-pan” The company is targeting a transition from tanker loader to pipeline exporter during 2017. The chief executive also confirmed Greater Stella’s FPF-1 will arrive on site early tomorrow morning. Mooring work will begin immediately and start-up is targeted for November. The company boss was confident in the firm’s timetables. “We’re putting risk behind us every day,” he said. The company’s operating costs are expected to drop to $20 per barrel following first oil from Stella. Stella will reduce operating costs $30 per barrel to $20 per barrel year-on-year. Stella’s operating costs tally $10 per barrel. Elsewhere, it increased its stake in the Vorlich discovery to 33% and acquired a 75% operating interest in the Austen discovery. The pair are considered GSA satellite acquisitions, according to the firm. Ithaca is targeting new field start-ups every two years, starting with Harrier in 2018. It acquisition strategy centres on low cost entry to existing discoveries, according to the firm. | scaff55
18/8/2016 14:43 | yes with Brent now at $50.25 and the FPF-1 having arrived safely at GSA without being blown onto the rocks things are certainly looking up here :-) ...have you seen the video? well worth the time to view imho | bountyhunter
18/8/2016 14:16 | I think the fundamentals of this company are now in great sync with the price of oil. First oil around November and I believe we are about to hit a new yearly high for the price of oil. Happy times and I didn't feel the need to track the vessel once lol. | bigdazzler
18/8/2016 11:34 | yes that's what I thought; those participating in the video all seemed very competent to me with a clear strategy in developing the FPF-1 as a hub in the GSA | bountyhunter
18/8/2016 11:13 | bountyhunter: Impressive video. Seems like FPF-1 is now in field. Hopefully RNS to confirm and first oil in a few months time | in_flu_ence
18/8/2016 07:11 | Brent through 50 :-) Happy days chaps :-) | sawadee3
17/8/2016 18:55 | and Brent now $49.87, should hit $50 very soon | bountyhunter
17/8/2016 18:53 | 4 vessels around the stationary FPF-1 right now; Balder Viking, Tor Viking, Boa Bison and Olympic Octopus | bountyhunter
16/8/2016 19:32 | another RNS tomorrow does seem quite likely now to confirm that the FPF-1 has arrived at Stella as gp suggested earlier, now down to 0.4kn and yes right next to the Olympic Octopus, presumably the other two tugs will be off soon unless the're going to stay around for an all night party! :~) how long does it take connect to those 12 anchor chains though? | bountyhunter
16/8/2016 18:24 | Glitter - I think you are right - well done to all involved!! | cfccfc1970
16/8/2016 17:56 | I guess that FPF1 is "there". Now doing 1.1 knot and next to anchor laying tug Olympic Octopus. Nice!!!! | glitter2
