Mine are still there. They've got (NEW) at the end which I don't think was there before.

Well Thursday is the deadline. Had no more nuisance phone calls so wondering if they have managed to raise the money this time. Will be interesting to see what they'll do if they haven't. I wouldn't have thought they could contemplate having another crack. Real tuppence-ha'penny outfit if they can't raise £120k after all this time. Why can't these chancers take more of the risk upon themselves and put their hands in their own pockets?

My wife's just remembered a call two weeks ago, with some "well spoken" chap sprouting on about a 4 to 6 week delay due to the FCA or FSA, related to some mortgage or money lending company. She doesn't know if it was this mob in reality or just some other scam, she let him talk for a while and then told him to "put his head in an oven" or at least words to that effect and hung up. Which is exactly what I would have done. Does that mean she's telephathic, and can read my mind. Now that would be scary......!!

dyor etc...

Sounds like they were trying to contact me on the phone on Friday. I was out and my wife took the call. You've got to admire their persistence but it just highlights their complete desperation to raise this money. What will happen after April 17th, I wonder?

Cheers tommo. Yes I read the same last night re not being able to utilise the loss against CGT if giving then away. I did have them in a nominee account but they were cancelled and I was just sent a share certificate for 200 shares. Not even sure how I sell these now even if they ever did relist as I only have a paper certificate..... I'll have a look at the CG34 too, and see if I can claim these as having negligible value. The sooner this whole mess is sorted out the better.

If you gift them to another person (your wife, for instance) or to a charitable organisation, you cannot then utilise the paper loss against CGT. I've explored that avenue very recently. I'm not prepared to waste a potential £12k CGT loss so I'm stuck with just this holding in an old nominee share account which I can't transfer out because the stock is suspended and which also incurs a monthly admin charge.

The sooner the clowns running this shambles realise that they are not going to raise this money from us and either make up the shortfall out of their own pockets, or give up the ghost completely, the better.

They really must be very stupid if they think anyone else is going to change their minds and invest now when they haven't already done so, just because they've extended the deadline by another seven odd weeks. Even if I decided to go for it now it would be bothersome to do so, as the original documentation went partly in the shredder and partly in the recycling bin back in November.

Bloody hell, first it was going to be a payday lender, next a mortgage broker, now its looking at crowd source funding. Make your bloody mind up what you are going to do.

You can submit details on form CG34 requesting HM Customs and revenue to declare them of nil value and claim the loss on your CGT return.
Alternatively you could ask your broker to donate them to charity through Sharegift

After the delisting and subsequent massive dilution several years ago, I was left with a share certificate for ~200 IVE shares, essentially worthless and no way to sell them and claim back any losses against CGT.

Does anyone know whether it's possibly to somehow realize these losses and offset them against any capital gains for the current tax year? Could they be transferred as a gift to a friend for example and the loss crystallized? Or do I have to wait until they relist somewhere (if ever!) before I can sell them and finally use the losses for CGT purposes?

Any helpful insight much appreciated!

SPOT THE DIFFERENCE...

"In November 2013, the board issued an Information Memorandum for shareholders only to be able to subscribe for shares in OFSG. Due to the time it took to issue the document and the two weeks of the Christmas New Year break, and so that shareholders could be given more time to consider the offer, the board have extended the offer until Friday 28th February 2014."

NOW... (Ignore the double I in "IIn" at the start. Attention to detail is obviously still lacking)

Extended again to April 17th....and they're still using Christmas and New Year as an excuse!!!!!!!

My accountant allowed me to write off my loss (about £12,000) in this crock a couple of years ago. I think he said that if they did relist and I could sell then all proceeds would be clear profit. This is not advice, just my recollection. GL - we need it. :(

Since they're not listed, there won't be an RNS. It would be good if they could use their email list and inform those who have signed up for updates, though.

I guess we won't hear until we know whether they've managed to acquire Cover Options (UK) Ltd....

"... the board have extended the offer until Friday 28th February 2014.

It is anticipated that the Company will shortly receive approval from the FCA that the Company can proceed to complete on the purchase of Cover Options (UK) Limited. The Company expects to be able to update shareholders shortly with a development in the Online Crowd Funding sector, which is an area that the Company is considering investing shareholders funds into."
