23/2/2017 10:59 | About 1993 after reading an EE article on portable computing becoming a possibility i bought £500 of Acorn shares which was a proxy for holding ARM. They were 8p each. the day before they were 5p, I was really cross with myself. I held and held then got my ARM shares which went as high as £36 where i sold out. It certainly was a multi ten bagger. This is why I am holding IQE and not selling on a double. With 5g round the corner, FB and Goog laying undersea multi terabyte cables, data centres being forced to go optical or go out of the business IQE is in a great position and to think it was considered worthless just like Acorn! | tonsil
23/2/2017 10:49 | IQE has for a long time been priced on a P/E ratio well below the rate for a growth stock, but of course it was not a big growth stock anyway, things seem to be changing as IQE move into the realms(so it seems) of a stock offering high growth, as such it could well be priced on a P/E ratio of at least 25 or more for high growth stocks. 23/2/2017 09:03 | I see AXT is on a trailing PE of a mere 121. | tonsil
23/2/2017 08:54 | This is a transcript of AXT results call from yesterday. They are a substrate maker who operate in some of the fields that iqe do. The market outlook statements may be of interest here. I do not know the company, but get the feeling they are not as heavily involved with development with key device makers as IQE. | poombear
23/2/2017 08:23 | Why not wait for results | rutter
23/2/2017 07:48 | Take profits and spend them or re-invest elsewhere, but where do you invest that has the potential of iqe? | darkdogs
23/2/2017 07:41 | Totally agree and we all have different aims, if you have gone from sub 20p to here who could blame anyone for taking profits, just depends on your ethos. My ethos is not to sell until much higher returns, but each to their own... | richardc77
22/2/2017 23:25 | Whilst the majority on this BB have a holding of some description or just monitoring the share, we do need to have a balanced view. I've not come across anyone here who is openly stating they are shorting. Whilst we all want the share price to keep on rising, we do have to take stock of where we've come from in such a short period of time. Everyone has their price target and reason for selling up and given the recent run, no harm in banking some profits. My price is 50p and whilst I appreciate it could go even higher, the downside risk is even greater now in my opinion. | lpavlou
22/2/2017 19:31 | Agreed yump. This time we all have stop losses set | shanieboy01
22/2/2017 16:18 | nice reversal | panic investor
22/2/2017 15:41 | ... and OK, since some of think I'm deramping I may as well oblige. So far IQE has not exhibited great performance and its debateable whether it has exhibited anything other than average performance. Couple that with a PEG of well over 1 (on next year's forecast as well). Not so long ago the bulk of posters were moaning about how rubbish IQE was and yet not much has materially changed, yet (there you are the 'yet' is there so you know I think it might change). | yump
22/2/2017 15:37 | I've found over the years, that by some miracle I can hold a share with a degree of hope and also for the most part tolerate the idea that it might not be God's gift to investors, regardless of how many people think it is. The difficulty is in recognising when there is a bandwagon and when there is just great performance. | yump
22/2/2017 15:25 | It still has 60p in it in this push. Longer term much more. | horneblower
22/2/2017 15:12 | And the subtlest deramper ever! Very sad. | karlm
22/2/2017 14:50 | Yump, are you one of those people that craves misery and disappointment on a daily basis :) | fullbright
22/2/2017 13:42 | Might just be the internet viral effect. Nobody is interested, then you get a critical mass of people who are, then it goes a bit viral and everybody is interested. Up until the point where half the people realise they've bought because other people are buying. Twas always the way, but now it happens quicker and it tails off suddenly as well. | yump
22/2/2017 06:52 | Lets break 60p first before we start to think this is going places.... Currently its still, pretty much, a penny stock. We should be heading to the top of FTSE 250. Come on 60p! You can do it! | netcurtains
21/2/2017 23:08 | Some larger sells today, so expect an RNS in the next few days confirming that another major holder has reduced their stake !!!The share price has almost reached my target for the year of 50p. We've had a great run since August but I'm not so convinced like others on this BB, that the results will be as good as we are all expecting to justify the current share price I think the price is ahead of the actual reality. | lpavlou
21/2/2017 21:50 | Those explanations don't make sense. It cannot have all happened since August after such a long time, unless the vast majority are just lemming-like. | yump
21/2/2017 21:49 | hxxp://www.finnewsne 21 Feb 2017 - BluGlass Ltd (ASX:BLG) CEO and Managing Director, Giles Bourne, talks about RPCVD, and how it will change the LED market Iqe gets a mention | calmarg
21/2/2017 21:18 | yump et all.Remember that bridge I was talking about? Now what about if it was made of this? Maybe steel is at the end of its 'Moore's Law' also! This has nothing to do with compound semiconductors but the evolution of materials in general.https://yout | tomyumgoong
21/2/2017 16:55 | This might be useful background info for some of you... | sheep_herder
21/2/2017 16:21 | ..... and people are beginning to understand the technology and the significance of the technology! | tomyumgoong
21/2/2017 16:14 | It would look like vast numbers of investors recognise that IQE has set the foundations for higher growth to come. Hence the steady increase in share price over the past months. | adventurous
21/2/2017 16:04 | I have a concern about the ability of IQE to capitalise on their position, as the market leaders when smartphone sales went from 122m in 2007 to 1400m in 2015, did they really drive home this advantage?Having followed this co for many years I've often seen posts criticising the management for there lack of commerciality. Shareholder value has seemed low on there priority. | wilbur |
