Sheep_HerderEpiworks was purchased by ii-vi last year along with Anadigics if I remember rightly! It's sometimes tough following all these breadcrumbs! Those purchases now starting to make sense!

Thanks max. This article seems to validate my post yesterday with the iPhone 8 having project Tango 3D sensing technology powered by vcsel semiconductors! ii-iv effectively 'sold out'. More orders for IQE?

A little while ago I was on my soapbox banging on about Google's project tango and I could just feel everyone's eyes glaze over lol. Well, project tango is just starting to hit smartphones with Lenovo being the first to introduce the feature! So what? I hear you cry, lol. Well take a look at this statement from IQE's 2013 financial report:''Nevertheless, smartphones continue to evolve with the incorporation of sensors and laser projection. These range from biometric sensors, to gesture recognition, and full environment sensing as developed by Google in Project Tango. These sensing technologies are largely enabled by compound semiconductor photonics technology''.Now this:hTtp://www.investors.com/news/technology/click/apple-iphone-8-to-get-3d-sensing-tech-for-augmented-reality-apps/Sometimes these things just take a while to come to market, but this will be the next evolution of smartphone tech!

Just been a buy at 40.25. Cannot envisage a lot of movement before March results unless there is an unexpected update beforehand.

There has been perfect equilibrium the last few days here between buyers /sellers. It had to give either to the down or upside and the strength of the move will show just how much demand /supply there really is here imo. I'm betting long from 38.25 I could end up wrong with egg on my face. Good luck all.

That's graphene based. The Carbonics tech is nanotubes.

I certainly do bob ;-) along obviously, with the 'state' of how the 1st 2 months of 2017 has gone.
I have found that attending the AGM (this year mooted June 13), is even better at gauging strategic issues and gives me a much better perspective of future events, markets they are aiming at and why, hopes and expectations etc etc. The last 2 have shown no evidence of pusillanimity looking forward , quite the opposite , that's why I have been buying heavily from 15p up. :-)

Thanks sweenoid, as you say March could be pivotal. Do you expect detailed comment on forward strategy with the results, assuming of course the CE mark is attained?

i have highlighted the conference mentioned here before on this thread , I think early March is going to be an interesting 'news' time leading up to our results on the 21st.

can I remind you that Dr Drew Nelson is chairing the meeting ( IQE CEO)

* CS= compound semiconductors , that being what IQE does! ( not trying to be patronising but some will not know)

The CS conference in Brussels runs parallel to two other important meetings for CS companies

and

at the risk of being boring here is the agenda of the CS conference
