Off course I have an issue with the BOD, they are inept, the share price is languishing at 22p after collapsing 11 years ago, while the chairman uses our money like his personal piggy bank.

Wake up and smell the coffee!

Serratia - Good post, sadly will have no effect on Iof thou, they live in world of their own and whatever is said its just same old same old...I've held these since 2014, always give your investments a chance, well 10 years is long enough in my book...

If the company would come clean and explain all the problems they face and give idea why growth is so slow, it might help.

Many thanks Serratia. I think many on this board check in here mainly for posts such as yours, which are always appreciated.

From time to time I see people posting about batteries, but world demand seems to grow slowly and steadily without this as an application sucking in additional supply.

My recollection was IOF should even with increased costs be quite profitable at $63. Obviously a higher price is good, but where would you see the price of iodine in 12/18 months? It seems like it is at a low point now given fundamentals of the market.

I think we have to assume they will move to a maiden dividend. That seemed to be the mood music at the last AGM.

As of now, 7 anonymous posters some of whom may be shareholders seem to line up behind Beer’s whinging post begging for a buy back (I am not one of the former but, regrettably, am one of the latter). At times like this, I regret not leaving my phone unused under charge.

If the BOD are plotting some M&A activity, they have seriously underestimated the market reaction to the lack of updated news and information being offered to shareholders.

The lack of information is being interpreted by the market as negative.

47% down from the 37p.

Just what IS necessary to spend some of the surplus balance sheet $ on a buyback?

Chilean press reporting that Cosayach are in trouble yet again.

One plant (Cala Cala) has been operating without correct permit's for several decades. They were warned to move it in 2022 however still in breach.

The press article yesterday says SMA are currently considering appropriate sanctions.

The one thing in Cosayach’s favour is potential job losses in the Pozo Almonte area. Their other larger production plant down the road is expected to close in coming months. 2 plants being closed would be a disaster for the local community.

Bocker01: Remarkably similar because I am trying to influence the BOD and other investors that there is an open path to running the company in an improved manner.

So people have been throwing their toys out of their prams that we didn’t get a Feb trading update like we did last year.

I went back to last years Feb 6th RNS and it said…
“ FY 2022 EBITDA expected to exceed market expectations”

They have always said they update the market if there is a significant deviation to forecasts (over 10% iirc).
So last year we had the trading update.
The lack of one this year simply tells me we are within range of market expectations so no Feb announcement like we had last year.

While it’s frustrating not to have results yet, they have been getting earlier year by year recently….

FY22 25 April
FY21 9 May
FY20 25 May
FY19 27 May

So by end of April we should have them and hopefully by mid April if they can improve by a couple of weeks again.

And yes Beer, I agree the sliding share price since last years peak is incredibly frustrating, I just see it as totally de-linked to the progress the company is making, albeit far far slower than we would all like.

Beer, I’ve got to hand it to you for persistence though I cannot help but feel that your posts are all unremarkably similar. Have a good weekend matey.

Naphar: With the share price crashing, I think it is unlikely that the opinion of the BOD is " decided an intermediate announcement wasn’t necessary "

Indeed Chill, even if there is some M&A activity going on in the background, we really should have had something on 2023 financials by now… maybe they are going to give audited results soon and decided an intermediate announcement wasn’t necessary

Naph I think is on the right lines. Q1 has probably not been too shabby at a production level.

My biggest annoyance is they haven’t given greater clarity on Y/E 2023 financials. Yes we know Annual Results are subject to audit but within 6 weeks of the year end you have a very good idea of where you stand.

Also there are no projections in market into 2025 so Canaccord need to step up as well.

Naphar: Share price dropped from 37p to 22p. No news. No BOD share buys, suggests a self-imposed blackout period. No use of buy-back funds. Failed to pass resolution at last AGM regarding funding for M&A.

Past experience.....

Nellyb" Nope, the BOD have promised transparency and open dialogue with shareholders. That is not what is happening here.

Again, you comment on "my" comments. Please focus on the dynamics of the situation.

I do not appreciate your focus on my dynamics or intent.
