OXFORD BIOMEDICA

The latest information now emerging from OXB regarding Trovax, appears to be as follows:

Investors Chronicle
7th January 2005 (p28):

Oxford Biomedica:

Trovax:

"...the drug has not yet found a partner and Oxford Biomedica is considering funding a Phase III trial itself".

............................................................................

As such, one might conclude the following:

1) OXB may fund lead Trovax PIII's themselves, so a deal for Trovax still appears be some years away.

2) If OXB fund PIII Trovax themselves, it would seem logical for them to stage a share issue soon in order to raise cash to fund the trials.

3) An earlier deal would probably not provide the kind of terms which OXB seek, i.e. would be comparatively small.

Interesting site.

The part I like is: " Subscribers can contemporaneously follow our purchases and sales based upon what we believe to be high probability trading opportunities in the markets."

Nice to see a site being prepared to put their money where their mouth is!

Unless it's going to be a 'paper' portfolio of course!

I covered my Index shorts from yearend, and getting ready to short again soon.
Meantime, I am adding to my gold-stock & silver-stock longs.

Here's why:
SILVER TEST coming:

while: this interview says:
CURRENT PARTY WILL END SOON
"The U.S. is consuming 82% of the world's savings"
and
"Largest source of capital are pension funds... (is at risk).
$37trillion of Debt and $51trillion of Unfunded Pension Liabilities, growing at $2tr. a year, cannot be repaid."
"Alot of promises are going to be broken. We have to prepare for that.
... You want to do that by getting out of dollar-denominated assets."

How do investors survive?
+ Reduce your exposure to the US dollar
+ Switch your savings to Swiss francs, gold grams, & other currencies
+ Buy gold and silver stocks as an investment
+ Most US stocks will drop, but some, like US-based manufacturers of aircraft parts will do well

...MORE, in interview with John Rubino & James Turk:

Mj,

I was thinking along the same lines. I think the title will soon be obsolete as well, so I was thinking something along the lines of "Biotech Targets for 2005" or "Biotech Targets and Milestones for 2005" etc

So once it gets going then I will start a new thread and copy all the progress tables across. It regards to the logos I also agree, just wanted to give it some wow factor to start with to gain interest and then hopefully I would like to include a small 2005 chart be the side of each company to help show the link (or not) of expected news flow, news and price changes.

I need some more input though. I have someone working on MLB info, but I thought the OXB lot would be clambering to get theirs up, but nothing yet.

There is a least 100 biotechs around, so I am surprised I haven't had more suggested yet.

Fickena, great thread, thanks. It's one of these ideas that makes you think "Why wasn't this done before?".

Can I make a suggestion? Since the header may grow very quickly until you have to scroll forever to get to the thread below it, I wonder if you wouldn't mind doing something like I did for AZM, which is to have a small header on the main thread with a link to the chunkier info on another page.

Also, I know others may disagree, but I don't really see the need for any company logos on the left either. They provide no information, and just bloat the tables further. I hope you take this criticism in the way it's intended, as a constructive one.

I'll see if I can contribute to the list later. Cheers.

Cheers Fidra.

Tilton - I'll have a proper look over their results and progress for my own purposes;

(and for anyone else interested)

Although for the purposes of this thread I am concerntrating on published timescales only.

The main reason is that people can then decide whether to trade them short term or long term depending on the potential news flow.

In compiling this I already have a couple of targets for a short to medium term punt.

Cheers for the tip though.

fickena,

They are overdue, but I'm not sure when they will release them.

It is well worth spending 10 minutes on their site, and researching ICVT. There is a multi billion $ market out there, and they appear to have some potential.

1. BPRG - dropped too far, news expected re court case damages, Wyeth & commercialisation of current deals. Board changes would have immediate effect
2. NTX - just broken into mobile market
3. PET - a gamble!

PKW looks a good punt
SP £0.53p
Mk cap £10 mln
Dividend 4. 14%

LONDON (AFX) - Parkwood Holdings PLC, the support services group, said it expects a satisfactory result for the full year after it achieved a 66 pct increase in pretax profit in the first half to end-June to 0.51 mln stg from 0.31 mln. It said its order book is up 34 pct since the end of 2003 to 308 mln stg from 230 mln. Turnover for the first half increased by 29 pct to 31.2 mln stg from 24.2 mln. The interim dividend per share was maintained at 0.9 pence. Executive chairman Tony Hewitt said the first half results were ahead of expectation before allowing for reorganisation costs following the acquisition of CCL Leisure Ltd ("CCL"), the most significant event in the period.

Ultrasis (ULT) which specialises in computerised cognitive behavioural therapy (CCBT) and health related sensor devices.

After a shaky start a few years ago, costs are now under control and revenues are building steadily. NICE are expected to publish a report in H2 2005 which could pave the way for the widespread introduction of key products into the NHS. Some of ULT's products are already making inroads in the US and UK.

The shares are near an all time low of 0.40p. It would not take much to bring about a recovery to 5p to 10p.

Tilton,

Cheers for the input.

Again I had a quick scan of the last results and can see no target dates, can you remember seeing any on their site?

For an out and out punt HML must be worth a look. News from the tests Croma Pharma are undertaking can't be too far away.

If anybody can be bothered it is well worth having a look at the photo's on their website re the treatment of warts, with a good before and after shot. Of course we can get a bit more intense on the wart front, but having seen some of those "pictures" it's enough to put you off your dinner.

All in all they look to have some more than promising IP.

Hope I wasn't giving them wrong impression, I just wanted to keep the list to published targets only.

Although personally I will look into them as I am always on the look out for more positions in this area.

Alphorn,

Cheers for that, must admit hadn't heard of them.

Had a quick browse of their last results and can see no 2005 Milestones, if you can find any point them out to me and I will paste them up on the list.

Must be direct quotes from the company.
