pretty robust trading statement and shares up - bodes well for future growth strategy - should be back above 500p soon.

topped up here c.485p - hoping earnings set to recover in years ahead and div with it. seems a strong business with solid management having come through the financial crisis in better shape than most.

I go to a lot of AGMs, admittedly mostly smaller Cos and Inv. Trusts, but the Investec one I attended today was without doubt the most boring and uninformative.

There were no less than 40 resolutions, all of which were expected to be voted for, or against, on a Poll Card. The meeting was so boring, in fact that one Director gave a very good impression of a person falling asleep!

I learned one thing only, and that is never to attend another.

INVP has now established a clear lead of £63m in market Cap terms and it's status has been upgraded on www.stockchallenge.co.uk to FTSE100 promoted RTO has held that status for the last month only to surrender it with a day to go.

By my calculations this is knife edge close to being included in next weeks FTSE 100 intake the share price doesn't have to do anything from here it's all down to LSE's Mcap compared to PNN's. LSE needs to trade places with PNN and fall to 111th place on FTSE ranking and that MAY allow INVP to usurp LSE in the 100. I stress it is very close as I write PNN's MCAP is £3m higher that LSE's yesterday LSE was £6m ahead. It's place your bets time but by the looks of the share price many have already decided.

placing to allow repurchase of debt below par looks a value enhancing move long term and nice to see it done after the shares have rallied - far better doing it out of choice than being forced to raise money at the bottom like the big banks have had to do.

Hi,
I don't have any Investec shares but I do have some savings in one of their accounts and I would be grateful for your opinions on Investec's chances of going bust. I have noted the share price going steadily southwards.

The account should be covered by the FSA protection scheme but still there is the lost interest and significant hassle involved so would much rather avoid having my money there at the wrong time.

Many thanks in advance.
J
