Balmoral,

Unless you have changed your name without telling anybody, and have absolutely no tie ups via banking (hard to see with the french, they wanted proof of the proof for ID from me) I'd be a bit carefull about with that scenario.

I borrowed 20p from my mate the other day cos the bell on my bike had broken and I needed to get a new one but only had 42p and it cost 52p. He now says that if I don't pay him back he is going to steal my chocolate pudding at lunchtime and write on my satchel. Please email me at IAMAPATHETICWIMP@aol.com if you can help me.

In a slightly different vein

Am in the process of buying a trading hut in France, and this will be my permanent residence by the autumn.

Whats to stop me just simply walking away from what I owe on a credit card?

I will not be mortgaged for the new place, have new bank accounts with a French bank, and no other ties back into the UK.

So, is it possible to just walk from this?

I am in a lot of debt and have been advised that an IVA may be the best alternative - can anyone advise the pros and cons of one of these?

I have been told that they are far better than bankruptcy and I will be debt free within 5 years.

Anyone been down the IVA route?

Thanks.
