29/9/2006 09:14 | One more quote from the results underlines their strategy:- "We remain in active discussion with a number of international companies who have similar strengths and weaknesses within their paper manufacturing and where the need for consolidation and to fill capacity remains a priority." Note the word "active". MJ | mjcrockett
29/9/2006 08:48 | Interim results for IVS were a bit of a surprise this morning, coming quite soon after the last finals. Despite an early markdown, I think the results are good. The bad news was that the business has had a bad half year and that the equipment from Carrongrove is proving hard to sell - both things to be expected. The good news is that St Cuthberts is getting some good orders and should return to profit soon. A profitable business should command a better sale price! Also, the sale of Carrongrove is proceeding well and with "proposals from almost all the major national house building companies", IVS must be due a premium price for this site. MJ | mjcrockett
08/9/2006 18:40 | Yes, time for us to wake up again. | ptolemy
08/9/2006 10:20 | Price up again - could have a substantial buyer around still. Online buy limit at only 5000 shares. MJ | mjcrockett
07/9/2006 14:54 | Someone has paid 0.5p over the offer price for 100,000 shares today. Perhaps they are expecting news soon. I wonder if we may soon hear about the sale of the 38 acre Carrongrove site. From the results:- "Recent advertising has resulted in a high level of interest on the part of national developers seeking to acquire the site for redevelopment." How much will it fetch? - £20m? £30m? £40m? MJ | mjcrockett
12/7/2006 16:50 | Don't know anything more than that the directors apparently have a great deal of confidence in themselves... and presumably, therefore, in the strategy of converting the co. into a real estate operation as reported in the FY results. I'm holding. | dave-w
11/7/2006 11:50 | I'm watching Dave, can't see anything yet mate. | doofer
05/7/2006 22:19 | Watch this space next Tuesday. | dave-w
30/6/2006 21:48 | A friend of a friend is fairly close. Might be able to throw some light early next week. Definitely no promises, however, and nothing privileged. | dave-w

27/6/2006 15:20 | Blimey - is that th ekiss of life administered over the last few days or what? CR | cockneyrebel
26/6/2006 21:22 | About time this sprung into life again. I have it down as one of my few hold and wait stocks in the pension but at least these occasional bursts of life restore your faith! :-) CR | cockneyrebel
26/6/2006 17:26 | Yes, very interesting. | canihackit
26/6/2006 13:37 | Interesting buy trades on 22,23,26 June. | ptolemy
01/6/2006 08:46 | The hints regarding the sale of the final mill are becoming less subtle. 'At the same time your Board of Directors is actively engaged in discussions with a number of international competitors about possible scenarios which include strategic alliances, mergers and/or consolidation within the specialist areas in which we operate. The alternative strategy to which I have referred above involving the harvesting of shareholder value within the Company's real estate portfolio will figure prominently in the period ahead. In view of the general state of the paper industry we are indeed fortunate to have the benefit of a portfolio of quality land assets which is ripe for future development.' MJ | mjcrockett
01/6/2006 08:18 | Message of results seems to be if you're patient buy on dips. Those who aren't patient presumably left long ago. | ptolemy
30/5/2006 08:39 | Last I heard the results were due to be published at the end of May - that only leaves tomorrow. I agree that newsflow could be better, but they must be delaying the results for some reason. MJ | mjcrockett
06/5/2006 20:38 | I still think it will take time to realise the land assets and I would guess that the remaining paper mill is not going so well. Results should be interesting. | arthur_lame_stocks
02/5/2006 08:43 | A test post to see if this thread is broken..... | ptolemy
12/4/2006 07:46 | Yes, results soon. MMs playing with bid/offers last few days and some hefty trades going thru' but little price action. The beast is coming out of hibernation; just hope its not a bear... | ptolemy

10/4/2006 22:58 | Expect Final Results RNS anyday now, previous years results released mid april i believe, anyone contacted management to confirm date. Interesting to hear view of senior management re proposed Planning Gain Supplement ( PGS ) expected to be introduced Jan 2009, appreciate Developer will incur this absurd Tax, ( must be paid before building works commence otherwise relevant authority can seek court order and even charging order against land whether residential / commercial use ) estimated by leading commentators to be least 20% uplift value once planning is obtained, leading questiuon is who's going to pick up the bill or is it going to be passed on to end user which will push up inflation. Hopefully IVS will secured relevant planning consent on various sites avoiding this unneccessary PGS Tax, certainly most unwelcome in IVS's case Useful to hear everyones elses views on the subject and its likely impact, especially IVS CEO. | jonny wilkinson
