It's going to be interesting how the Aer Europa uncertainty plays out with decision not until July and even if negative how it gets recieved. Dividend news another play.Traditionally if the former doesn't get accepted would increase chances of dividend.

TopBun - I deleted my bROZILLA account as by end the end of it I wasn't really contributing anything but adding to the cesspit this thread (and probably ADVFN as a whole) has become. And these threads are very much swings and roundabouts and very unproductive with my goal of learning rather then getting sidetracked with meaningless debates.

I am now Hoezilla because bros before hoes ;) and when I do visit ADVFN it is now mainly just lurking.

These are the only two handles I have posted under - and my offer still stands if you wanted to jump on a call and see for yourself rather than make misleading accusations.

Regarding post 27489 from a year ago... I have learnt a lot more about the aviation industry since then (I think i'd only been trading like a year or something) and I am glad a user was able to post some information providing further clarity for me.

Two points I'd like to make for clarity as the legend of Brozilla is brought up again.

- My current thoughts on IAG is maybe good volatility trade, certainty not a a stock I would go long on and far better less risk to reward shares out their I'd trade before IAG
- Me and shoots never agreed on everything and reading recent post - still don't, I was just always trying to advocate for civil debates (both sides) rather than name calling so try and increase productivity (In hindsight this was a mad move on my part as it just dragged me into the name calling for "lying with the dog with fleas"

I think the article is more for clicks 'Citing people familiar with the matter' - just like BBC who bring on their 'Experts'

Either way I will be watching from the side-lines (not that I am for a dividend just yet)

whatsup32 I know that you were provoked by 1spitfire but your language is out of order but I have appreciated your posts in the past and hopefully you will engage us again some time ahead. Likewise 1spitfire your posts are welcome but I think that your recent comments on whatsup32 were OTT as his post 30330 was quite positive and did not detract many of us here that sense positive days/months for IAG going forward. I cursed myself as I nearly added at 171p in the last minutes yesterday but did get a few at 169.5p a little earlier. I will certainly add on any slippage at 170p. However I doubt that I will be so lucky. Happy Easter everyone and hopefully whatsup will be back again on the IAG board as he is very much appreciated on the AVIVA board.

peteret...thanks for your post on IAG short positions. I see that Marshall Wallace only increased their earlier short by 0.05% on 20/3 back to 0.70%, and GLG Partners lowered their short by 0.08% on the same day. With the former MW standing at 0.70% and GLG at 0.62% I have no idea if that means the percentage short against the total of shares outstanding for IAG which would be quite a high number? Can you advise?

Happy for long suffering IAG holders , hopefully IAG continues its positive trend .

Very happy for holders as IAG had a nice rebound , but so has the market to a point.
However I'm still negative on IAG fir these reasons
1. New aircraft deliveries will be less then anticipated c 737 max and other Boeings .
2. Other airlines have highlighted this issue and seen their share price drop and profits warning issued .
3. Growth will be restricted due to 2
4. Costs still on the rise
5. Huge debt mountain
6. Questionable leadership
7. 7 billion to be spent on improving services. That's 7 Billion folks not a typo.
8. Where is the 7 billion coming from

Continuing with brokers recommendation.
The Times Tempus column recommended a BUY for IAG the day before results. Article failed to mention IAG,s huge debt mountain, possible takeover of AE - TAP and cycle of ticket prices ending .
Article concentrated on IAG profit and turnover.
That day share price finished c1.5% lower , following day x results went down a further c3.5% with The Times having over half page dedicated to puff peace on IAG .
This leads me to believe not just most analyst but media too are on the bandwagon to dupe us general public into buying what they want to sell us.

Stevie. Yes absolutely right. Aren't we lucky we get c8% dividend compensation.

The Times has several articles asking why share price is not going anywhere with IAG in its business section. Times is very positive with IAG
The Times.
When IAG executives are asked why share price is so low .answer is " that is a very good question "
Posted at 18/1/2024 10:16 by whatsup32
Air Europa have around 40 aircraft half narrow half wide .IAG interest in AE is around 25%? .
AE,s announcement is good but won't touch the sides with IAG .
AA should be making an announcement today ? , if they give positive signal on future then IAG will clime if not I suspect it will drop.
Last night they were all down again stateside

Edit. AAL results due 25th January
