25/9/2009 09:33 | I thought we may have had more reaction than we have to this tip especially as it is a pretty solid company on recurring revenue streams. Article didnt mention about dividends either. | boozey
25/9/2009 08:58 | Thanks Bobbyjim. Thought it might mention the NS&I contract. I would mark the author down for that! | harrytrad3
24/9/2009 14:47 | Estonia, did you write the Ronsons paint advert: `it does what it says on the tin`? | harrytrad3
24/9/2009 13:22 | this Company is going from strenghth to strenghth........... | estonia
24/9/2009 12:33 | with the amount of coverage this is getting now should be interesting!!! i would'nt be at all supprised to see this in the ic fri. | giantpeach2
24/9/2009 10:27 | I haven't topped up yet! I can buy at 11.75p and sell at 10.7p, but that's still a pretty hefty spread. I was going to reduce my holding in AFR to raise funds to buy a few more of these, but it's 'results' day for them tomorrow. If I sell some the share price will no doubt shoot up, but if I hold you can bet your bottom dollar the share price will plunge even if the results are superb! I am usually quite decisive, but it when it comes to when to buy and when to sell shares I invariably make the wrong call..... I'll dither a bit longer. | bobbyjim
23/9/2009 20:24 | For what it's worth British Bulls also has it as a 'Buy Confirmed' tonight! I think I'll risk a smallish top up in the morning with a view to making a short term gain. I first bought in at 7.69p in Feb, 2007 and sold them at 11.1p 2 months later. I bought back in again at 9.375p in May, 2007, and bought a load more at 7.95p in December, 2007. I've held them ever since. I'm hoping for a quick price spike by the close of business next Monday evening, but if it doesn't happen I firmly believe the shares will be a sound longer term investment. I believe the share price has been depressed through association with the beleaguered Banking sector, and as they trade at a hefty discount to the Technology Services sector, their true value should eventually be recognised. Good luck to all fellow shareholders! | bobbyjim
23/9/2009 19:58 | bobby IEN was recommended as buy in Chart Breakout's last edition a month ago, and so far has barely moved. If and when it starts to move, I expect it to be a substantial one, particularly if it breaks out of the decade-long sideway move. | rafieh
23/9/2009 17:12 | I subscribe to Investors Chronicle IC Advantage, and I have just been sent an email to say they have published an update regarding IEN. When I try to follow the link I'm told that the page is unavailable. Every time this has happened in respect of shares that are in my IC Portfolio Alerts list, the company has been one that has been tipped in the following Friday's magazine. I'll bet that IEN is tipped in the Investors Chronicle this Friday. Of course I don't know whether such a tip will be a 'Buy' or 'Sell' recomendation, but I'd bet on it being a 'Buy'. Whether you love or hate the Investors Chronicle matters not, the share price usually heads north following one of their 'Buy' tips. I hold a fair few of these shares so I'm not unbiaised, but do I just await the anticipated good news, or should I be greedy and buy more in anticipation of being right! It's very tempting! This theory has proved right on at least 6 or 7 occasions now. Flak expected here on Friday if I'm wrong, but I'm sharing my humble opinion in advance with the best of intentions, so please do your own research, etc, etc. | bobbyjim
23/9/2009 08:07 | thanks melton john for the info | giantpeach2

22/9/2009 11:51 | Aticle on Yahoo mentions IEN: The company is currently trading on a price/earnings ratio of 9.5 based on projected full year earnings, which places it 'at a 67% discount to the Technology Services sector,' FinnCap reckons. Based on this, the broker places a fair value of 15p on the shares. | melton john
21/9/2009 15:01 | Never mind back to sleep then | shareowner
21/9/2009 14:09 | mms widening spread to its usual gap again, you would think they would try to encourage trading!!!! planks | giantpeach2
21/9/2009 14:03 | A little tree shake I hope. Not diector selling surely? | harrytrad3
21/9/2009 12:28 | GNMartin I think the PE you mention is on last years figures, and this year (half year) has kicked off with better figures. Further histocically IEN have a better 2nd half than first! Prospects vis share price look good to me. | harrytrad3
21/9/2009 12:22 | Good results, but the forward PE is about 15, which is high for a company like IEN. The hope is that they have now have a winning formula, and will grow steadily, in which case they are a good long term investment. They might struggle to rise much in the short term though.
