With the trucking industry starting to adopt H2 fuel IEH will get much more commercial deals for their 100KW HFC's.

Once trucking fleets start using hydrogen fuel joining the strong trend set by Busses and trains set in Germany, France, China and India then the cost of H2 fuel will drop and become the accepted norm just as petrol is today.

This will also mean lower production costs for HFC's and Pump to Gas projects and then the industry focus will be on high volume sales as the fuel market transits from fossil fuel to 100% clean H2 derived from renewables. Some of those renewables may include new H2 production techniques using Genetically Modified Algae which produces hydrogen in warm water in high volumes.

Hydrogen producing Alae could become a new farming commodity; creating a global industry fueling the 21st Century transportation systems, heating and home electricity production.

Further to the above

“Nikola will begin selling hydrogen to non-Nikola customers for around $3.50 per kg, nearly half the current market price,” said Milton. “We believe that hydrogen power generation is a better deal per mile than plugging in for electricity.”
and that's about a quarter of the UK £10/kg. How do they do it?

Impossible not to be confident that the use of H2 fuelled LDVs is about to increase very quickly in the US

I wonder whether ITM is on to Nikola at all?

Thanks and Congratulations .You are really on to something big. I am keenly anticipating 1 Dec launch of the Hydrogen version.

(The truck)...is equipped with a 320 kWh battery pack which enables up to 1,200 miles,.......when ..combined with the natural gas range extender"

There are over 32,000 individual lithium-ion cells welded together in the Nikola One’s battery pack. Nikola Motor boasts the pack as being 3x the pack size of a Tesla Model S P90D.
6X6 100% Electric drive
Zero idle
Many times cleaner than diesel engines
1/2 the fuel cost per mile compared to diesel
3,700 FT. LBS Torque
2,000 Horsepower
1,200 Miles range
320 kWh Battery
1 million miles fuel free
Regenerative braking
Never plug-in – Turbine charges batteries automatically while driving
Most of the company’s plan relies on its ability to develop its natural gas CNG refueling stations,

I hope that ITM and IEH and CWR are aware of this.

Nikola Semi Trucks from December 2016--

SALT LAKE CITY--- Nikola (pronounced Neek-oh-la) Motor Company ("Nikola") is on track to unveil three landmark products at the launch event scheduled for December 1, 2016.

At the unveiling, Nikola will show off its flagship product, the highly anticipated Nikola One electric semi-truck.  The prototype Nikola One is expected to be the most fuel efficient class 8 truck ever built.  Never before has a heavy duty truck achieved record setting fuel efficiency while also dramatically improving performance over its diesel competition.

Nikola is currently preparing the next generation of the Nikola One, a hydrogen fuel cell-powered electric semi-truck for production.  Nikola's hydrogen-powered electric semi-truck will have a range of 800 - 1,200 miles between fill-ups and achieve approximately 15-20 mpg with zero emissions under full load.

This performance surpasses all government mandates in place for the next 10 years, including the EPA's recently announced stringent Phase 2 greenhouse gas standards.

Based on this ruling there will be a lot more business by 2018 for Britain's homegrown Hydrogen energy businesses.

-----------------------------

Mr Justice Garnham, sitting in London, ruled the plan failed to comply with Article 23 of the EU Air Quality Directive and linked air quality standard regulations.

Following the judgement, ClientEarth spokesman Alan Andrews called on the Government to "resolve this issue once and for all".

He added: "We look forward to working with DEFRA ministers on developing a new plan which makes a genuine attempt to achieve legal limits throughout the UK as soon as possible.

"We need a national network of clean air zones to be in place by 2018 in cities across the UK, not just in a handful of cities."

Annual Statement should arrive in the middle of November - until then I don't think we'll hear much news coming out of IEH (lol) - just hoping there are some decent nuggets in there.

Government gears up for zero emission future with plans for UK roll-out of charging and hydrogen refuelling infrastructure

Added by FuelCellsWorks, October 26, 2016

Plans for more charging stations to encourage low emission vehicles.

Plans to make electric vehicle charge points more widely available and convenient for motorists were put forward by government yesterday (October 24 2016).

As part of our ongoing commitment to making transport greener and improving air quality, the Department for Transport is consulting on a series of measures that will make chargepoints more accessible, making it easier for drivers to recharge as demand for low emission vehicles increases. The measures are due to be included in the Modern Transport Bill.

The government has pledged more than £600 million over this parliament to further boost the ultra low emission vehicle market, which is going from strength to strength after the number of new ultra low emission vehicles registered rose by 250% in just 2 years.

Secretary of State for Transport Chris Grayling said:
We are committed to making transport cleaner and giving even more drivers the option of using a low emission vehicle as we strive to improve air quality across the country.
