a genuinely sad story of Hubris by top quality executives who shone n an established business RR then fell apart in a start up situation; the royalty advance of £37.5m was the killer; I also feel sad because some good technology has emerged that will drift now. I remain doubtful given the nature of the last resort greedy hedge fund man, whose deal was a deadly poison and the shaky management that has in effect been castrated

Hydrogen infrastructure boost. Ensuring a better supply of hydrogen ...

and, apparently, Honda's new Hydrogen powered vehicle has a 366 mile range

IEH's fortunes are linked to the price of oil which is predicted to rise

(

since if oil is cheap, it's harder for Hydrogen to be seen as a cheaper option. Eventually, if the EU succeeds in phasing out all diesel and petrol cars, Hydrogen will become ubiquitous ... why? ..... replacing all the internal combustion engines in the world runs into the problems 1. Where is the Lithium going to come from and 2. The batteries need replacing every 5 to 7 years. Yes there will be progress in battery technology but for now, an inexhaustible supply of Hydrogen is attractive.

I feel really sorry for initial investors like Dean Windass and iBug. Their blogs just drip fallen expectations. This company has disappointed investors to such an extent that those still left (with hollow bank accounts) clutch in desperation at spurious reasons why all this technology will come good. The Modern Transport Bill is ALL about electric vehicles and the Hydrogen dream will just become a mirror of the Betamax story. This is one of the saddest investment stories, built on false hope.

BIG GOV BACKING -- 600Mn GBP --- Government commitment to ZERO EMISSIONS FOR TRANSPORT

Plans for more charging stations to encourage low emission vehicles.

Plans to make electric vehicle charge points more widely available and convenient for motorists were put forward by government yesterday (October 24 2016).

As part of our ongoing commitment to making transport greener and improving air quality, the Department for Transport is consulting on a series of measures that will make chargepoints more accessible, making it easier for drivers to recharge as demand for low emission vehicles increases. The measures are due to be included in the Modern Transport Bill.

The government has pledged more than £600 million over this parliament to further boost the ultra low emission vehicle market, which is going from strength to strength after the number of new ultra low emission vehicles registered rose by 250% in just 2 years.

---------------------------------------------------

The Modern Transport Bill, first announced in the Queen’s Speech in May, will outline the role technology and innovation will play in delivering the safe, efficient and user focused transport systems of the future.

The bill is due to be The Department for Transport is also consulting separately on the proposed transposition of the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Directive; Europe-wide legislation that will further promote the roll-out of charging facilities for vehicles that run on electricity, hydrogen and other clean fuels.

The Modern Transport Bill consultation on measures for low emission vehicle infrastructure will last 4 weeks, closing on 23 November.

There is a real need for Britain to do H2 gas to power projects to meet the EU backed 2020 pollution target of a 15% reduction in CO2 emissions. Therefore an expanding Hydrogen market to H2 enabled power generation is inevitable.

And along with that is plenty of business for British based firms like IEH and ITM.

Fuel-Cell Maker’s New Chief Seeks China and Japan in Growth Plan

September 27, 2016 — 6:00 AM EEST

Intelligent Energy shifts strategy after avoiding insolvency
Martin Bloom says its time for technology company to focus

The new chief executive of British fuel-cell maker Intelligent Energy Holdings Plc is seeking to expand sales in Japan and China in a bid to boost revenue after the company almost went bankrupt earlier this year.

Martin Bloom, who replaced Henri Winand in June, also wants to move on from Intelligent’s previous “jack of all trades” strategy, which involved it touting the technology for a wide range of uses from mobile phones to drones and automobiles.

“My focus is what can we do in the next 12 to 18 months and where we can generate revenues,” Bloom said by phone on Monday. “We’re much more focused than we were and we’ve cut down the number of external programs that don’t seem to have commercial deployment in the short-term.”

The manufacturer lost most of its value in March after failing to raise funds for a deal to install its technology on more than 27,000 telecommunications towers in India. It subsequently announced a “material restructuring” including more 200 job cuts and a refocusing of its strategy to sharpen the focus on products that are ready for market.

Shareholders in June approved a 30 million-pound ($39 million) loan to Intelligent, a lifeline that was necessary to avoid bankruptcy and enabled its biggest shareholder, Meditor Group Ltd., to raise its stake to 72.2 percent.

“If you look over the last few weeks, there’s been some positive signs that investors see the value in the company,” he said.

The company held an investor day on Sept. 21, and the new strategy was received “enthusiastically,” Bloom said.

Bloom says he has hired new employees who can expand sales in Japan and China, both of which are increasingly adopting fuel cells for stationary, mobile and diesel replacement to curb pollution. He expects full-year revenue of more than 90 million pounds ($117 million) for the year fiscal ending Sept. 30, up from 78 million pounds last year.

“In the past the company’s been technology-led, and I’m trying to work out where the technology fits in the energy ecosystem,” he said. “There are several areas that we’re very well situated.”

HFC FUTURE==REPORT

Report highlights growth of the clean transportation space

The world of fuel cell vehicles is about to expand significantly in the coming years. A new report, titled the Global Market for Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicles, predicts that a comprehensive hydrogen fuel infrastructure capable of supporting the widespread adoption of fuel cell vehicles will be in place by 2020. As more hydrogen stations become available to the public, the attractiveness of fuel cell vehicles is growing, giving these new cars a slight edge over their more conventional counterparts.

Fuel cells can be used to power a wide range of vehicles

The report suggests that hydrogen fuel cells can be used in virtually every transportation sector, from passenger vehicles to bicycles. The report focuses specifically on light vehicles, which weigh as much as 6 metric tons. These vehicles are quickly gaining attention because of their efficient and environmentally friendly nature. Fuel cell vehicles are expected to have a very successful future in the clean transportation space. By 2050, the report predicts that fuel cell vehicles will represent the fastest growing segment in the automobile market.
