23/3/2017 10:26 | IT's ALL ABOUT VERY MUCH LONGER FLIGHT TIMES OF SOME 2 TO 3 HOURS INSTEAD OF 25 MINS. Longer flight times ... Intelligent Energy's fuel cell systems for UAVs offer longer flight time, fast refuel capabilities and flexibility for varying payloads, addressing some of the biggest challenges for users. PINC said it understands longer flight time is essential to the development of its customer offering and Intelligent Energy's fuel cell systems will provide this. Julian Hughes, Senior VP Intelligent Energy Inc, said: “PINC is leading the way with the use of hydrogen fuel cell UAVs in the supply chain and we are certain they will be impressed with the benefits our fuel cells will offer over conventional batteries. “We look forward to a long relationship with them." Matt Yearling, CEO at PINC, said: "Joining forces with an industry leader like Intelligent Energy will enable our inventory robotics solutions to perform more effectively and efficiently, thereby transforming the way organisations do inventory checks inside and outside of manufacturing plants and warehouses." Working prototypes of Intelligent Energy's fuel cell systems for UAVs were showcased last year at InterDrone. Share | ibug | |

23/3/2017 09:32 | Intelligent Energy Shares Double After Securing Aerial Drone Deal Thu, 23rd Mar 2017 09:21 LONDON (Alliance News) - Intelligent Energy Holdings PLC on Thursday said it has signed a deal to deliver fuel cell systems to the US's PINC for unmanned aerial vehicles, marking the London-listed company's first sale of fuel cell systems for use in aerial drones. It didn't provide a monetary value for the agreement. Intelligent Energy shares more than doubled on Thursday following the announcement to 13.40 pence per share. PINC is a US company that uses UAVs to identify and orchestrate hard-to-reach inventory and assets in the global supply chain and is the leading provider of yard management, finished vehicle logistics, and inventory robotics solutions to the world's largest manufacturers, retailers and contract logistics providers, Intelligent Energy said. "Intelligent Energy's fuel cell systems for UAVs offer longer flight time, fast refuel capabilities and flexibility for varying payloads, addressing some of the biggest challenges for users," said the company. "This is particularly evident in the commercial space where UAVs are increasingly being used for a number of applications including inspections, search and rescue and film and photography," Intelligent Energy said. PINC will operate the fuel-cell powered drones alongside battery operated ones as part of its inventory robotics offering, which provides real-time inventory tracking by air. "Working prototypes of Intelligent Energy's fuel cell systems for UAVs were showcased last year at InterDrone. This first UAV deal demonstrates the Company's commitment, as part of its revised strategy, to commercialise fuel cell technology for this fast growing market," said Intelligent Energy. 23/3/2017 09:12 | FAA-Approved PINC Air Drone Could ‘Revolutionize Supply Chain Industry’ Posted by Betsy Lillian on November 25, 2015 No Comments PINC, a provider of yard management and supply chain execution solutions, has been cleared by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to conduct commercial drone operations of its PINC Air unmanned aircraft system (UAS). PINC Air is an aerial sensor platform that operates outdoors and indoors to efficiently inventory hard-to-reach assets by using an array of sensors. “This is a major milestone in the development of PINC Air,” says Matt Yearling, CEO of PINC. “With the FAA’s primary concern being safety, this exemption grant supports our design goal of safely collecting supply chain inventory data in industrial environments – away from any residential areas. “PINC Air operates in geo-fenced commercial zones, under the supervision of qualified personnel, while following a pre-programmed path to ensure safety and effectiveness,” About a year ago, the company introduced PINC Air as a drone that provides the ability to survey a wide area to autonomously locate and inventory assets. Ideal applications include tracking trailers, finished vehicles, heavy machinery and oil exploration supplies. Terry Miller, president of UAS insurance brokerage Transport Risk Management Inc., comments, “We feel strongly that the technology, training and operational professionalism employed by PINC will serve to revolutionize the supply chain industry.” PINC also recently teamed up with Kenco, a provider of integrated logistics solutions, real estate services and material handling equipment, to explore the potential of deploying PINC Air for yard management at Kenco distribution facilities. | ibug |
