22/6/2010 14:15 | Take a look at LWB. Good trading statement and figures out next month. Clinbing steadily. As others, nosedived in credit crunch. Looking like a very strong recovery play now. imho of course. Not going to bank small profits to soon this time as I did with SWG and CKSN. And SRT!!!! GRRRR | bantam175
18/6/2010 13:56 | View from Investors Chronicle......... If you followed our buy advice six months ago (16p, 18 November 2009), you will have doubled your money. Teledyne's bid looks a tad on the low side even though it has acceptances or undertakings to accept from shareholders holding 25.6 per cent of the shares. Sit tight. | interceptor2
18/6/2010 10:30 | Yes I noticed INN also, unfortunately not a holder but well done. It looks like acquisition activity is increasing strongly now, with a strong dollar American companies are taking advantage of some abnormal low valuations with UK small cap companies. Either valuations increase here as investors notice this opportunity or many more companies will be taken over. Not great for UK PLC, but a great opportunity for us investor in the short term imv. Back to work now, looking for more undervalued companies. Good luck....... | interceptor2
18/6/2010 08:24 | What a week. Same result with INN today and only bought in last week :-) | bantam175
16/6/2010 23:38 | Well done you lot, patience paid off, hope the same will happen with (RGM), (HER) & (SKR) soon! Risk play is back and takeovers increasing, all good signs of a market starting a bull run for several years hopefully. | ny boy
16/6/2010 14:44 | For the last year the shares traded around 15p...today the offer is just above 100%...who says the market is always right?...here the market got it soooo wrong!... | diku
16/6/2010 11:28 | I was chatting to a friend about this yesterday, who has almost as large a holding as I do. He has been to the last couple of AGMs and believes the management are fairly switched on to running the business if not to maximising shareholder value. My view is that they dealt with the pension issue quite well and it is not now the serious issue it was. However, the company is perceived as something of a mini conglomerate with its 3 divisions and perhaps they would have done better demerging or selling one division or possibly integrating the microwave division into Paradise Datacom. In my view Paradise is worth significantly more than the market cap (before today) on its own. | pentangle
16/6/2010 10:52 | pentangle - Congratulations. Milky bars are on you! I think the company could have been more proactive about realising value for shareholders over the last few years. Its all good and well saying you are running the company well and the share price will respond eventually. TND being a company with a similar attitude. More focus needs to be paid to the share price and addressing shareholder value. If only thats how markets operated rather than the current system where companies are run for the self serving benefit of directors. | nickcduk
16/6/2010 10:50 | On a cross channel ferry at the moment and just logged on to see the news, excellent start to the day. Fortunately I brought back in here a few months back, after selling my holdings a few years ago. I have recently noticed an increase in takeovers of undervalued companies, which seem to be ramping up strongly. Shareholders holding these undervalued small caps should have a very profitable year imv. Regards ic2..... | interceptor2
16/6/2010 10:45 | Anyone any idea when this deal is likely to go through if/when it does? | bantam175 |
