Cheers nick.

Paradise, CML and the US Dollar all doing the biz.

Can see brokers upgrading after next weeks Trading Update...here's another
snippet:-

Shares in Intelek (ITK) rise more than 3% after the company wins a contract worth more than $1 million (£561,000) by its wholly-owned subsidiary Paradise Datacom from a major systems integrator in Indonesia.

The designer and manufacturer of electronic systems and components says Paradise has received orders for its 1.1 kW solid state power amplifiers.

"Our recently established office in south east Asia is rapidly paying dividends," says chief executive Ian Brodie.

Analysts at Brewin Dolphin say in a note that the news is encouraging and expected to have a positive effect on the shares price, whilst repeating its buy recommendation and leaving its 29 pence target price unchanged.

Thats a great find Jeff. Excellent news that they see sales up 50% in the next couple of years. That and sterling being weak should have a big impact on the bottom line this year. I reckon CML on a stand alone basis is probably worth the current market cap alone.

Yep balcony I think you're right, but in the meantime it allows you to get
in/add to your holding at a cheap price.

Another broker report (fairfax) on the website for you to peruse penpont.

Another +ve - CML awarded £600k grant and see continued expansion:-

I read the brokers notes penpont they were issued before the recent dollar revival.

Dollar up again today so reckon they'll beat the 2.9p EPS forecast.

I added 50k this am - might as well pocket the div as well!

I've also added to these via a SB lately. There are a couple of very positive recent brokers notes on the Intelek website giving target prices considerably ahead of the current level. Brewin dolphin have 29p as a 12 month target.

The AGM statement wil be interesting and should give an early indication of whether - as seems very possible - the 2.9p forecast for this year is another cautious underestimate.

I've been stocking up on these the last few weeks.

The US air tanker order to EADS maybe back on as Boeing are now whingeing about the retender bidding timescales and are threatening to pull out altogether....wishful thinking perhaps.

What's definitely been a bonus though is the strengthening of the USD $.

Last year a weak dollar knocked GBP 300k off profits so this will reverse
so long as the pound doesn't strenghthen - unlikely given economic and interest rate forecasts.

The stock goes 0.3p xd this Wed, trading update Sep 12 with the AGM.

I doubt the overhang has cleared. The stock has a multi year overhang which has stopped it getting a decent rating during that period. A little buying now that markets are doing better is probably behind todays rise. The company could do with being broken up. I imagine the various businesses would be attractive to different parties.

Westcountryboy....excellent write up. I hope you don't mind me mentioning the slightly increasing margins, yet another bonus for us long term holders.

wcb - well done on making the effort to do a write-up...think you being a bit
modest about calling it a short post.

A 250k Buy went through today so that must help.

Broker notes from Brewin Dolphin and also Redmayne Bentley are now on the company website:-

Next up hopefully a good IC write-up.

Thanks Jeff. On seeing these I wrote a short post on TMF which is here:

That's how I see things anyway. There seems to be an overhang at the moment, one or more sellers into strength, but I'd hope that the fundamentals will come through soon...

And two decent-sized director buys announced this morning at 17.5p. Not only a good sign in itself, but it might do something to clear the overhang!

B & D latest forecast now out:-

Y/E 31/3/09 Pre Tax £3.5m EPS 2.9p Div 0.5p
Y/E 31/3/10 Pre Tax £4.1m EPS 3.3p Div 0.6p

..so a current forecast p/e of less than 6...surely deserves better

Cream will always come to the top. Looks like the the short termers who may have got in around April are taking their profits, which of course they are entitled to do, but the value looks longer term here. I for one am a solid holder.

Depressing price action today again. ITK does tend to have a habit of drawing out stale bulls on any decent news so I guess its not wholly unexpected. Happy to hold on and wait for either a takeover or a re-rating to take place.

penpont - 23 Apr'08 - 07:55 - 332 of 348

Very encouraging statement today. Comfortably ahead should hopefully mean a beat of at least 15% of the housebrokers current 2.33p, taking the actual outcome for the year just past to around 2.7p+.

Underlying Actual EPS 2.78p - so you were right penpont!

Another cracking set of results that have come in way ahead of forecasts. Outlook was healthy enough given current market conditions. I imagine 2009 forecasts will now be bumped up. Shares trading on a p/e of around 6.5. It is way too cheap and I wouldn't be surprised if a bidder comes sniffing in due course. Expecting some progress in the share price today but don't imagine it will be too great.
