funny, certainly today and yesterday a trade for 1 share has gone in about this time. reminds me of that post that was on here a while back about single trades being a signal to members of a clandetine organisation of shady investors to buy or maybe sell. Shall I buy iii or sell? gus

Aquila,
Thanks for trying. Do you have PII or higher?
And 64mbs RAM? A reasonable internet connection?
If so, you should be able to get in. But those
Blox files are slow to download.

Otherwise, try entering thru this Link:

I just wondered if there was any iinterest in this AFN /iin debate...regards, A.

No action in iin so doesn't seem very probable ....

Enlighten us, dolgyn.
A shareholder activist perhaps?

For a comparison of IIN's price vs. cash holdings
and that of similar companies, have a look at:

There are quite a few Internet co's still trading
at a discount to cash. IIN is very near its lows.

This is sad. Perhaps Mr. Joel Hampton does not realise
that no bank will talk to him if he lacks money and expertise.
Otherwise, any man in the street could take over any number
of undervalued companies out there.

On the other hand, if he had £500,000 of his own money,
he might approach a bank and be taken seriously. Why?
Because the bank could see that he could pay their fee.
Otherwise, he will need to make the approaches and organize
everything himself. Lacking experience, he is unlikely to
pull it off. On the other hand, if he gets enough people
with shares to talk to him, he might help broker a deal
by introducing those parties to someone who is serious.
I suspect this is what he has in mind.

Losos - greetings chap, trust all well down there in the deep south!
Good question...there has to be further consolidation in the sector, I'm just not sure that it would be a sensible fit/worth the trouble....

Happy Easter, regards, A.

I have copied this from the III bulletin board.

Someone has posted this as a way of forming a consortium to make a rival offer for IIN.

I sent an email off to the address and got a reply back.

A rival consortium entering into the bidding will do no harm to the price so we benefit either way.

Here is the posting:

On Friday 23 March 2001 a report compile by Citywire stated that iii the provider of this financial service website is up for sale.

Citywire reports that a strategic review has raised a sale or a partnership as options. Talks have already been held with other companies, and will continue, but so far no offer has emerged.

This means that it may be possible for smaller investors who are members of this bulletin board to develop a consortium to buy or enter into a partnership with iii.

This is an excellent opportunity to put together a consortium of private investors to acquire iii. The attractions in submitting a bid consortium are:

1. Interactive Investor has an online presence that differentiates itself from other online operators when compared to the likes of market eye, DLJ and First E.

2. The company has a cash pile of £51million that is worth more than its current market capitalisation, which stands at under £40 million.

3. Although the company has a lower-than-hoped-for level of transactions on its web site the actual web site has been developed through a range of advertising using flash based web design.

This differentiates the iii site from other financial web sites such as market eye.
This is merely an idea. The plan is to ask members of this site whether they are interested in developing a consortium.

What you need to do is the following:

Send an email to consortiumiii@excite.co.uk. with the subject heading: interested in iii

This email has been specially set up to gather peoples views and to provide further information through a series of meeting that are to be arranged for people interested in raising capital to table a serious offer for interactive investor.

Please note this is a serious affair and I do not expect to receive emails from uninterested individuals.

People that respond to the email will be asked when they are able to attend a meeting. A venue has yet to be arranged depending on the number of people that respond.

Thank you

Interactive Member and Current Shareholder in Interactive Investor
