grief, this has had a torrid time over the last 12 months and now needing more funding to get by. Wouldn't rule out a return to 20p now ie. the '09 lows.
As with all things in India ... progress is always 2 steps forward and then 2 steps back & seemingly only the politicians ever win financially in the country.

Interims are out just in time for Christmas!

NAV is 88p per share so IIP are running at a 25% discount

Htrocka, I reckon it is much less about oil & gas, much more about his connections at a high level in Delhi. "It's not what you know, but who you know".....

interesting..

'10m jobs will in fact be created, 60% of them in logistics, and several officials say the decision will jumpstart India's stalled economic reforms.'

Braun...look at the chart again....the last time the share graph line rose above a RISING Exponential M/A within the Bollingers was mid April...when the U.S. MAM Fund bought 10.35m shares ( at circa 80p)..Previous Annual profits recorded as 3.2m, 4.5m and 7.5m pounds for '09.'10 and '11 respectively. The half year report is due towards the end of December....and to be honest I'm expecting an 'in line with expectations' statement, culminating with a gradual creep back to the mid 80's...and over the pound mark by the July results release next year....hopefully with profits close to 10m pounds. (my opinion only...dyor)
This is not a volatile, high flying share...more of a slumbering giant...the way I like it.

Htrocka, I've seen these sort of charts on a number of thinly traded stocks. Either the trend is "broken" with one sell order of a few thousand distorting the trend; OR, the charts are self-fulfilling with more and more buyers taking note and moving the price up. Call me cynical!

One point Htrocka on the NAV point: IEL's NAV was based on book value, IIP's NAV is based on DCF of the assets. The first is an accounting number and the second is a measure of return.

Hopeful that we will soon see the effects of the Guggenheim management on IPP's business.

Braun.....name me one share that's traded at NAV?...When IEL got sold to IIP, they got it for 23p a share when the NAV was 53p. Lots of companies on the IAM are trading at less than 50% to NAV....at 66%...this one's actually doing quite well.

For anyone who wants to read the in-house broker note on the VLMS acquisition here the link:

Why is this share price floundering at around 61p when NAV is at least 95p?

Thanks Braun & htrocka for the info. Looks as good a bet as any in this market. I bought into IEP as a play on renewables in a growing market & dispite the share price coming off a bit, don't see any reason to change the view.Although my reading of the take-out price is that it wasn't overly generous to IEP holders, it has at least meant that I'm now holding stock in what looks a stronger vehicle.
Thanks again for your thoughts.

That's about right....I too, converted the IEL shares and saw no reason not to go with this lot..solid backing, sound management, good business plan going forward, deep pockets, Mcquarie backing, divi promised within 12 months...better than money in the bank.....and we're not the only ones there...

Hi LondonInvestor, IIP is nice and simple. I was a holder in IEL which was acquired by IIP and have done a bit of homework.

IIP is a closed-ended fund (as opposed to an operating company) and is solely focused on investing in to Infrastructure assets and companies in India. They have a tidy portfolio of hydro projects (large and small scale), a decent sized toll road and now wind. One of the most important things about IIP (and which changed in March) is that Guggenheim is now a major shareholder and has brought in new management in to IIP who have an impressive track record of investing in to infrastructure.

My view is that IIP has got to grow (£100m market cap for a fund is tiny) and they have the advantage of the deep pockets of Guggenheim to help them fund that growth.

An interesting fund with massive potential, is how I see it.

Hope this helps
