18/4/2001 11:33 | Takeover rumours..... I have been reading the posts on this thread. Interesting. I think they reflect speculation more than anything. However I am expecting an increase in M&A activity during the summer. At the last results, IBI had a cash balance in excess of £90m. Bearing in mind a cash burn of just over £20m per 6 months, that puts the cash balance at the end of June at around £70m. That equates to about £1.30 a share. Allowing for the products IBI has - a bid in the region of £1.50 or double the current price must represent a bargain to any predator. They would get the businesses for effectively £11m. You kind of get the feeling that something has to give on IBI sooner or later. This is just my thoughts, please DYOR etc. | stevel

15/4/2001 13:31 | Ariba has been concentrating on the larger exchanges that have proved too complex to implement and are failing. The B2B market is shifting towards smaller private exchanges (ca. 1 billion and less i.e SME). IBI is allegedly ahead of Ariba and CommerceOne in this market, with excellent software and in a position to become the world leader. A lot of ifs and buts, but if this market takes off, IBI's value will rise strongly again in the next years. BTW I am not currently invested in IBI, but I am watching carefully (yes, still nursing big losses from all the techs, but moved into cash presently). Sidekick | sidekick
15/4/2001 04:13 | This share will continue to fall as cash pile is eroded (that's happening at quite a rate of knots). What Izodia needs is to start announcing deals. They have to try to instill some confidence back in to the market, otherwise izodia may become i(no more)zodia. (imho) Isn't Ariba a competitor of izodia? Although Ariba recently posted negative eps, they were expected to post a profit. What does Ariba do differently to IBI that makes them more likely to post profits. Can IBI become an Ariba? Thoughts anyone? | misermanuk
14/4/2001 17:34 | have been averaging down for months after large buy bat 13.00. watched this down and down, however im now starting to feeel confident in thisbagain, my average is now 4.00 and whilst im not expectiing a profit overnight i do expect this stock to rise quickly once the market turns around. DYOR but here is a great opportunity to make big money quickly | the fish
03/4/2001 20:51 | blimey , man, i hope thats not your the only stock | biomax
03/4/2001 18:23 | The cash on hands are supposed to be worth about twice the current shareprice, so it is a good takeover prospect, not that that would bring me close to my 1700 that I paid for it... | piboy
03/4/2001 17:52 | Ariba, a US competitor of IBI, announced a loss of 20 cents per share for first quarter against an expected 5 cent per share gain. CEO said future earnings growth looks unpredictable given type of market they're in at present. | misermanuk
03/4/2001 17:34 | ANW, have seen this type of post all the way down from £40.00.I bailed at £1.20 just over 2 weeks and have seen the share price nearly halve again.I have never been so happy to financialy blow out my brains. SELL................ | lawt
29/3/2001 00:31 | landsker, can't see how its the end of the road for IBI. obviously you have a financial interest in saying such things. hope you're making money on this share. I've lost a lot. However still have some hope left... company has a good product, people are talking about takeovers, and the market its operating in has huge potential. So the reason for the price fall - cash burn and lack of evidence of any new revenue coming in any time soon. sentiment can easily change with a few decent contract wins and evidence of earlier than forecast cash positivity. rather than write it off, wait and see. | camp freddie
29/3/2001 00:24 | Why would SAP UK be speaking to IBI rather SAP AG? I remember someone suggesting this in the summer months. Makes sense in someway especially as SAP are one of the strongest tech stocks (The Neuremarche(!) is up today!!!!)and so must be able to buy something on the cheap. | crooke
29/3/2001 00:07 | looks like the 600,000 trade was a sell it is starting to look like the end of the road for ibi now . | landsker
28/3/2001 09:40 | I asked my broker about IBI who advises that rumours that they are talking to SAP are getting a little louder. - Hope so as I do hold these and am sitting on a loss!!! | tobaccoman |
