Lets hope there's a plan B then bald....as 35p will not be accepted..

Thats why i think no formal bid will come now....an offer/take out price would have been discussed in some form prior to exclusivity..and the price window that was discussed has probably not been reached...

We'll soon find out..

ht - so you still expect late 40'/early 50's? My friend I wish but the share price is clearly telling us otherwise.... my guess is 35p

Even if the final price was in the vicinity of the current NAV....for the love of Christ...I can`t see UTILICO, with a seat on the board....accepting it.

htrocka - you are right - if there was no offer from the exclusive party or no prospect of one from the others then the company is legally bound to put out an announcement to this effect. The fact that it hasn't, means the co is still in talks and likely at the end of the DD process.
At 25p, anyone with any nerve should be taking the stock off Arden partners as any bid is likely to be around 35p IMO.

stinger...it still doesn`t detract from the fact that `Exclusivity Periods` are usually a signed up to/contractual 60 days.....and as we`v had no rns to state that this has ended....therefore must assume it`s still ongoing.

Might be 6 or 7 weeks....which isn't 'months'.

Just be patient imo.

htrocka - see the link!

As in your post no'550

"We expect to have an offer from them within a reasonable amount of time," Chief Executive Officer Rupert J. Strachwitz said in a telephone interview today. "We're talking weeks, not months."

Weeks is mentioned?...and not months? therefore my guess is a 4 week exclusive period was offered,,, which has now expired..

Problem is credibility is being lost here....back in March/April a RNS stated a similar short timescale for an announcement?

Sorry htrocka however these are facts....and no deramping here...i wish a good outcome.

Update on Corporate Activity

The Board of IEL wishes to update the market following the announcement of 1 April 2011. As stated in the Pre-Close Statement, the Company has received a number of approaches and has been actively pursuing these. The Board is pleased to announce that it has now entered in to a period of exclusivity with one party which may or may not lead to an offer for the Company. If an offer is made, it is likely to be at a premium to the current share price.

Enquiries

I`m disapointed that some posters on this board have not read my previous posts...yet are quick to `fire from the hip`...There`s no mention of `4 weeks`....and Exclusivity Periods are usually contracted for 60 days...that means we`re not half way ...yet.(wake up)....and try and focus on the final sentence of the rns.....ask yourself...was there any need to make such a comment....that this will be settled `at a premium` to 28p (the price at the time the rns was issued)

htrocka/baldeagle -

According to press releases by Rupert an offer (if any) was to come within weeks of the RNS 31.5.11 and to be concluded within 4 weeks!!

Looks as though there's no offer i'm afraid..

Be interesting to see what happens now?.

paragraphs 22, 14, 42,48,58 give views of the Gadag site...(with a reference to various financial interests within the paragraph below.)...the interesting point being that the report chose this sight to highlight it`s report.

from the website.

ps...just a small portion of the installations surrounding IEL`s nearest electricity producing neighbours.

I'm guessing we'll get the answer as to end game price this week or next.....

Whatever the out come...no doubt UTILICO will have the final say..(read the comment in post 236 below)(if you read post 241..you`ll get a feel of UTILICO`s investment strategy...in that they buy into companies that have undervalued NAV`s) IEL`s CEO has refered to the NAV a couple of times...and with UTILICO having a seat on the board...tends to reflect this train of thought and UTILICO`s mentality...hence concluding that they are dictating the terms for the final outcome.

It`s not as if UTLICO are short of cash...

from their last years accounts.
`The net result is a gain on the capital account of GBP103.6m versus a loss of
GBP128.9m last year.`

Thanks HT - this is obviously not a 'leaky' ship as there does seem to be a disconnect between what shareholders/commentators expect for a take-out and what the current market price is saying... With NAV likely now in the late 40's, a discount of say 15% to this implies 42-44p yet the market price is saying its 32-35p (generally a 20% discount) - someone is going to be wrong. I cannot for the life of me see the BoD recommending the lower offer and believe the extended nature of the negotiations is probably the BoD trying to get an auction going with the other parties engaged in DD. I still stick with an end game price of 38p, you?

the `contractual remuneration`...ref:

`The allotment forms part of the two director's contractual remuneration as
disclosed in the Company's AIM admission document, dated 2 September 2009`.

to be honest... having searched....I never found this info. (however, they still hold the shares as payment)
