Morning all. I hesitate to say I'm cured in case of some Life of Brian type disaster but - I can at least walk normally.

Sony are giving me a new TV which seems to be considerably better and dearer than teh old one.

Just discovered this thread and the sad news by chance today - more than a year on.

I'd like to pay my respects. I learned a lot from Ashley. He was a wonderful character.

Graham,

That plane. It was rather small (and slow), imo.

I prefer a 777 or a 747 of course. However, it is at least a Boeing, so it cant be that bad.

Cheers Filly,

I like the idea of a bilge keeler for exactly that reason but got talking to a chep at Bangor Marina who suggested a fin was faster and had less sideway drift(Guess thats like the 'yaw' of a plane?) As the longer term plan would be to do the Isle of man and Ireland before possibly moving further south and maybe cross channel than I concluded the fin maybe more practical for longer distances?

Still not sure, as a big appeal is to 'beach' on an evening tide, sleep aboard overnight before 'going out' on teh morning tide..

I take it the 'chart' is drawn at low water? Did you ever come across 'Sarn Badrig'(St Peters Causeway) Looks like a (Beachable?) bloody great sand bank about 5 miles out at sea? It sticks out to the left of Barmouth.

We quite liked Madoc and saw 3 Konsorts jetty berthed right by the yatchclub.
