I used to be involved in a franchise (toyota) and inch did the logistics and transport . The recalls could imo generate a lot of income if they are still involved with toyota.
I am banking on it and have bought in today at what looks like a bargain price.

Said before we have just had the Royal visit from Inchcapes CEO. He came and had a chat with the boys on the floor. When i asked him about the 10th of March, he just winked and shook my hand!! Make of that what you will. I also asked about the Toyota issue. He said that Inch would make more money off the back of it. Hold your nerve boys and girls.

Shares Mag today has a SELL rec on INCH suggesting that Toyota could account for 50% of Group sales and INCH also has a stake in the company. INCH is so far refusing to reveal these details.
I am a holder of INCH shares and endorse several of the positve notes written today. My conclusion: share price now significantly oversold. Even more so after today`s opening (5/2) !!

At 13:44:56 today on LSE 1,000,000 (value £262,486.90) trade type 'cancelled', I am still green but could this be something? Debt payoff?

Recalls cost the customer zilch. Drop the car off in the morning, pick it up in the evening, money isn't even mentioned.

Toyota are legally required to carry out the work. They have to get someone to do it which means they're not exactly in a position to call the shots as to how much they pay for the work to be done. No franchise is going to do the work at a loss.

And a downturn in Toyota sales is hardly going to have much affect on Inchcape given that they sell numerous different makes, one of which the disgruntled Toyota customer will end up buying instead.

I would imagine that Inchcape will generate work from this (paid for by Toyota rather than the customer) but I would have thought that Toyota will be paying a very small profit premium for the work, and the money they will make from it will be nowhere near enough to compensate for the lost vehicle sales revenue Inchcape will suffer as a result of the damage this has done to Toyota's reputation.

if inchcape sold a Toyota that was to be recalled then the consumer would not need to pay.... ok, maybe Toyota will pay inchcape for parts and time but that will be peanuts imo

the consumer will not get there wallet out as they shouldn't have too

Will you be doing it for free then ?

TOYOTA will have to pay up big time. And Inchcape will get loads of work coming their way.

I agree.

Just bought some more.

Toyota recalls will mean more revenue for their garages.

Its a no lose situation.
