20/1/2009 21:51 | At least money arrived at all my 3 overseas broker/bank accounts. I like to thank one more time, PL and all others who managed this wonderful deal. It is my second real big FSU hydrocarbon jack pot Take Over (PetroKazakhstan was my first story). What to do with this money ? 1) Most probably I wait for the markets to aproach another testing of the lows. If it occurs, I shall pick mostly big fertilizer shares like Potash and Mosaic. A small part might be invested into potential resource take over candidates, which I own already. I shall have an eye also on the big miners like BHP, Rio etc. etc. I shall keep out my money from Russia as long as this criminal alliance of KGB/FSB + Crime Mafia + Military Mafia rules this country and infiltrates the economy with their salami tactics. It is enough there. 2) I shall keep an eye also on ONGC. At least their upstream basis is now 1/4 covered by our former assets. India is too important for Russia to be cheated. From the plain money mechanical view, this idea has some charme. But probability is rather low, as there are plenty other damm cheap resource shares available world wide. 3) I shall keep an eye on all re-investment ideas from this board and of course on any actions by PL. It was an exiting time with a very happy end. Thanks for sharing this time. Take care of the money and good luck to all !!! | sailor9

17/1/2009 16:52 | Any body heard what PL may do with his cash. I am in PTR and Tman both in FSU and would love to see him divert some of his cash pile and expertise into either of these. | chris cat
14/1/2009 21:01 | > The wisest thing,to do,in my opinion is to clear debt. > Consequently,I paid off a good chunk of my mortgage. Hmm, completely the reverse opinion to me then. I paid off most of my mortgage over the last few years when rates were relatively high. I now have an offset mortgage with a small outstanding balance, but a large (for me) pile of cash in the related account. Indeed I doubled the available facility in June (just as well as I doubt they'd agree now) so have a decent sum sitting there waiting to buy another property once there's an indication of stability in the market. My mortgage rate is the lowest it's been in 20 years, I'll need a pretty meagure return on investment to cover the loan, and until I find something worth putting the money in to, it's offset anyway. However, I'd agree that the stockmarket is a very volatile place. I've not chucked the IEC cash at anything else yet. | davius |
