LOL. Should have closed your short while you had the chance. The 'Bad news' is already out there and getting long in the tooth... only it doesn't look as though it will be nearly as bad as some think. Onwards and upwards!!

Personally not expecting this to remain independent for too much longer. Underlying growth potential and profitability is way too attractive, and there must be folks out there capable of leveraging their existing client base rather than paying the effective £1,200 customer acquisition cost IG is currently paying

A couple of days of falls to recover too; thought we were starting to see good momentum. Think it'll be there

4.50? Very unlikely in my view but you never know. My own feeling is it is only going one way from here.

Looking to add a small amount on any decent post XD sell off.

£4.50? , never say never, however would be surprised to see that level
without some additional regulatory uncertainity flaring up.

Try talking out aloud when you read it, the penny might finally drop......although doubt it somehow!.While I'm on, any reason why this is going to go anywhere near 450 again, and love to hear your detailed reasoning for 250, can't wait.DD

I thought brokers moved their targets up as shareprice rises and down when shareprice falls, hence always looking like they make the right call. Maybe RBC need to correct their call ;)

Essential, one thing I do know it's been a lot of fun and made a decent amount of money - and a particular delight is NO COMMITTEE MEETINGS!!

Gorse, spot on!.

Nearly 3 decades for me, not sure where all the time has gone.

My two decades of experience tells me that the day of a broker downgrade is a better day to buy than the day before. Thus I bought a few more. This company seems to have a strong balance sheet.

The record date is usually Friday now, but it takes the shareholder record
from close of business on Wednesday. Anyway just technical stuff.

- also drop today is probably because RBC broker cut its rating to underperform from sector perform (though it raised target price to 510p from 500p where it was previously).

please be aware the ex-dividend date is Thursday, February 2nd.
The ex-dividend date is usually one business day before the record date. The ex-dividend date is almost always on a Thursday nowadays.
Before Oct 2014, it used to be 2 days (so Wednesday) but not anymore.
You can sell your shares on Thursday and still get the dividend, but if you sell them on Wednesday you get no dividend (or you can just hold and keep getting dividends for many years - expected 23p in Oct/Nov...) Hope that helps.
