"Ideagen to help mental health and community trust meet paperless NHS targets and reduce reliance on off-site storage suppliers

Published on July 8, 2016 at 12:17 AM

Software firm Ideagen is to work with South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust to reduce the volume of paper patient records in line with the NHS’s £4bn drive for paperless health services.

The Trust will implement a series of Opex scanners to be used alongside Ideagen’s document scanning solution, dartQScan, and its accompanying document management software, dartKW.

dartPortal, Ideagen’s web-based clinical content viewer, will also be launched, allowing staff at the Trust to instantly access scans through an electronic interface.

The project will help South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust not only meet the paperless target, but reduce its reliance on off-site storage suppliers and the costs involved in retrieving paper records and other documentation.

Nikki Cooper, Head of Information Services at South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, said: “This project is a significant one in that it will help us work towards achieving the NHS’ paperless requirements and also reduce the need to store and retrieve documentation off site.

“Through dartQScan, paper records will be scanned and saved on our system, allowing anyone with the correct permissions to access these electronic documents straight away or whenever needed. There should be no need to send documentation to be stored off site, and then wait to retrieve records again once required.

“Meanwhile, the dartKW software will allow us to complete our quality assurance checks on a particular document while dartPortal provides a web interface to a patient’s clinical information.”

South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is a community, mental health, learning disability and forensic Trust that covers over one million people in the Barnsley, Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield areas of Yorkshire in the UK.

The project with Ideagen will see the Trust focus on legacy records initially, with a plan to replicate efforts with more current documentation at a later date.

Nikki added: “The project will see any documentation that would have been sent to offsite storage now staying on premise and being scanned into our system instead. This means that eventually all patient records will be in electronic form and able to be retrieved as and when required, rather than waiting for the document to be retrieved from storage at another site.”

Ideagen provides software and services to help over 400 global Healthcare organisations, including 75% of the UK NHS, to manage quality, safety and compliance while improving patient care outcomes and clinical effciency."

IDEA are featured in this week's Shares Mag in an article on IT solution companies addressing the needs of new regulation, compliance etc:

"Nottinghamshire-based Ideagen (IDEA:AIM) also provides solutions and services into the NHS but its governance, risk and compliance software reaches across the enterprise zone as well. The company’s Enlighten platform is an integrated system able to combine information from multiple operational sources on top of the typical internal audit and compliance functions. This leads to a detailed overview of corporate risk, controls and consequence mitigation.

This sort of software can become a compelling sale once an organisation’s
bosses begin to grasp the significant financial and reputational damage
possibilities of not having adequate systems in place.

It has been widely reported, for example, that the accident last year on Alton
Towers Smiler rollercoaster was largely down to staff misunderstanding a ride
shutdown message, an unfortunate accident that could likely have been
avoided with more thorough safety protocols".

"Ideagen A Special Guest at Cobalt Air Launch
Source: Ideagen Jul 1, 2016

Ideagen were honoured to be specially invited guests at the official launch of Cobalt Air, Cyprus’ new low cost national airline.

The event, held in London’s Paddington Hilton hotel, was hosted following the airline being successfully awarded its Operating Licence by the Air Transport Licensing Authority of Cyprus and its Air Operator Certificate from the country’s Department of Civil Aviation.

Cobalt Air has ambitious plans to connect European points with the Middle East, Africa and Asia, through its Larnaca home base.

The airline will adopt Ideagen’s Q-Pulse safety management software, in order to control and manage its compliance, risk management and electronic documentation systems.

Ideagen’s CEO David Hornsby, who attended the event, said it was a “great honour” to be part of the birth of a new airline. He added: “This is an extremely exciting project for Ideagen.

“We are delighted to be playing a huge part in Cobalt Air’s journey and extremely honoured to have been invited to the company’s wonderful launch event.

“I speak on behalf of everyone at Ideagen when I say that we are looking forward to working closely with Cobalt and supporting their goal of becoming a key low cost air carrier for Europe and further afield.”"

"NHS Trust, Ideagen Launch Clinical Portal to Improve Patient Management
by Jasmine Pennic
06/22/2016

Healthcare software developer, Ideagen, is working with a leading NHS Trust to launch an innovative clinical portal designed to improve levels of patient care. Kent-based Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust has launched Ideagen Clinical Portal, which enhances patient information management and streamline internal IT systems use across the Trust.

Ideagen Clinical Portal is a web-based and complete electronic health portal which provides secure access to a unified view of a patient’s clinical information. It integrates with internal systems such as Patient Administration Systems, A&E, electronic document management, Orders & Results and ward management, providing quicker access to clinical information.

Paul Jackson, Senior Product Manager at Ideagen, said: “CCIO’s and hospital IT directors need modern, user friendly systems that make it easy for clinicians to adopt new working practices and engage directly with IT systems.

“With Ideagen Clinical Portal, all clinical systems are surfaced into a user friendly client interface that clinicians find easy to use and configure. This provides immediate access to clinical information and allows staff to provide more effective care quicker than before.”

Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust runs services at Darent Valley Hospital, Queen Mary’s Hospital, Erith & District Hospital and Elm Court (Priory Mews) and pride themselves on providing high quality innovative standards of care.

Through Ideagen’s Clinical Portal, the Trust is aiming for “significant” efficiency savings.

Neil Perry, Assistant Director of Clinical Systems Development and Corporate IT at the Trust, said: “Dartford and Gravesham are striving for efficiency and aim to be paperless at the point of care for 2020.

“Our vision of Clinical Portal is to have a single ‘go to’ system for our clinicians that supports and enhances the Trust’s ‘best of breed’ strategy. Through the implementation and roll-out of our Electronic Health Portal via Clinical Portal we seek to make significant cost and efficiency savings as well as witness a number of operational benefits.”

For Dartford, these benefits include:

– Health Records never being lost or delayed and always available to multiple users at once via the Portal

– Integrated Order Comms and Results reporting with added benefit of being able to use a workflow functionality to push key notifications to individual users or teams

– Federation of data from multiple systems into a single view

– The capture, transformation and onward sending of legacy outputs from third party systems"

More business for IDEA's Q-Pulse with ODX (which coincidentally I also hold!):

"Ideagen : Q-Pulse is the DNA for Omega Diagnostics Group's Indian expansion
05/19/2016 | 11:03am CEST

Governance, risk and compliance software vendor, Ideagen, is helping an ambitious life science organisation expand its operations in India.

Ideagen's Q-Pulse will be the foundation for Omega Diagnostics Group 's quality and compliance management as the company launch sales and marketing operations in Mumbai and manufacturing operations in Pune.

Using Q-Pulse, Omega will customise its processes so as to tie in with the Indian GMP requirements and those of the Indian FDA, namely Schedule M. Further to the regulatory compliance benefits, Q-Pulse will allow the organisation to share learnings, best practice and core documentation as it is used extensively within its other manufacturing facilities in the UK and Germany.

Mike Gordon, Group Operations Director at Omega Diagnostics Group, said: 'Q-Pulse has been the bedrock to our quality success both in the UK and in Germany and will play a pivotal part in our success in India.

'This is a very exciting time for the Group and is quite a strategic development for the organisation. Achieving and maintaining compliance to the Schedule M in particular is crucial for us, and Q-Pulse will enable us to meet those objectives as efficiently and effectively as possible.'

Omega Diagnostics have been users of Ideagen's Q-Pulse software for several years, implementing it to centralise the Group's operations and to make it easier for management to achieve visibility across the whole organisation.

Its Indian site will be involved in the manufacturing of a range of products including rapid diagnostics tests and is looking to be fully ISO accredited by the end of 2016.

Mike added: 'The Indian expansion ties in with the overall growth and ambitions of Omega and provides us with direct access to the Indian market; reducing exporting costs and increasing profit margins.

'Similarly to our operations in the UK and Germany, Q-Pulse will provide us with a compliant document and quality management system. The system will become an essential component in us achieving ISO accreditation for our entire Indian operations in 2016.'

Paul Marshall, Ideagen's Head of Life Science, said: 'We are absolutely delighted to be playing a major part in the expansion and success of Omega Diagnostics Group.

'They are truly a customer advocate for Q-Pulse and we work hard to maintain our fruitful relationship by ensuring the continued integration of Q-Pulse within Omega's global operations."

Good - slow and steady wins the day.

Thx for the update GHF. Finncap's 61p target would represent an ex-cash current year P/E of around 18, which imo would still be pretty decent value for a business with global prospects, high recurring income, organic and acquisition-led growth etc.

Congrats to DH and his team. Yet another excellent performance.

finnCap have raised their price target to 61p & provide the following,

Ideagen’s full-year trading update for the year to April 2016 reports a robust performance in line with unchanged forecasts: EBITDA of £6.3m (vs £6.3mE) from revenue of £21.9m (£21.8mE).

Results highlight strong performance in Governance, Risk and Compliance, driven by strong demand across multiple verticals and included success in the new SaaS platform, Enlighten.

2H cash generation proved strong, with year-end net cash of £6.3m (FY15: £5.3m; 1H16: £5.4m) continuing to enable all strategic options including further acquisitions and investment. We review and upgrade our 12-month target price to 61p (52p).

Terrific update. And loving the conclusion looking forward:

"The Group has significant contracted work in progress, a growing recurring revenue base and a healthy pipeline of new business, which leaves me optimistic about the continued growth opportunities for the Group".

The cash pile will hopefully enable more acquisitions too.

New highs soon perhaps.

Note battlebus2's post above....some nice extracts:

"Midas recommended the company in March 2014, when the shares were 33p. Today, they are up 54 per cent at 50¾p and chief executive David Hornsby hopes to double the price over the next three years.

The short-term outlook is good as well. Ideagen’s financial year ended on April 30 and a trading update this month should prove positive. This may well prompt City brokers to upgrade their profit forecasts."

"Ideagen has a strong balance sheet too, and Hornsby is actively looking for acquisitions, having made seven in the past four years, all of which have increased group earnings.

Brokers expect profits to have risen 58 per cent to £5.7 million in the year just ended, with further strong growth expected this year. In 2015, a 0.165p per share dividend was paid. This is expected to rise to 0.182p for 2016 and 0.2p for the current year.

Midas verdict: Shareholders who bought in 2014 have had a decent ride so far, but they should stay on board. New investors could also buy in with the shares at 50¾p."

Can't read the article without a Gartner account or paying almost $1300. This highlights who uses Gartner service, namely Large corporations. They look to Gartner when salesmen try and sell them software. If it's been evaluated by Gartner and gets their seal of approval, it's far more likely to be signed off by finance and get through the door. Plus the techies feel happier as somebody else has validated it and they aren't going out on a limb.

All in all, this is actually really good news for IDEA!

New contract wins in life science sector

New revenue generated from life science vertical in excess of GBP1 million in current financial year

Ideagen plc (AIM:IDEA), a leading supplier of Information Management software to highly regulated industries, is pleased to announce a number of recent contract wins in the life science industry, bringing the total customer contribution from this industry alone to more than GBP1 million in revenue since the start of the financial year. This makes life science one of the fastest growing verticals this year for Ideagen within the Governance, Risk and Compliance ("GRC") market.

During the year, Ideagen has secured in excess of GBP1 million in new software and service revenue from both new customers and expanded engagements with existing customers in the life science vertical. The Group has signed up 27 new customers, including a leading in-vitro diagnostics and pharmaceutical company, a UK science-based university and a global pharmaceutical therapy development company.

Ideagen's electronic quality management system, Q-Pulse, is the most widely used solution from the product suite for customers in the life science industry. During the period, Ideagen agreed a strategic partnership with DataVita Ltd, operator of the UK's first life sciences and healthcare compliant datacentre. This partnership will enable the Company to offer the Q-Pulse solution via the DataVita validated platform, opening up further opportunities with life science organisations looking for a hosted solution.

David Hornsby, Chief Executive Officer of Ideagen, said: "We continue to see strong demand for our product suite across all of our vertical markets, including transport, finance and complex manufacturing, however demand within the life science industry has been particularly strong this year. While life sciences alone still represents a small proportion of overall revenue, we are pleased with the traction we are making in this industry and see this as an important sector from which to grow further as we roll out new products and upgrades, as well as launch the DataVita hosted Q-Pulse solution.

"To break through the GBP1 million barrier with healthy existing and new business contracts is testament to the strength of our products and to the expertise of our team in what is a rapidly growing industry."
