21/10/2004 07:28 | hello mate, not sure, the 100,000 may have been a RAB sale as you said last night. | barryrog
21/10/2004 07:17 | barryrog, game on ! All buys this morning, and a nice tick-up. | ukhawk
20/10/2004 20:26 | maybe they knew SHARE may be updating tomorrow. RAB won't be selling if a deal is close and without their sales they may not be able to stop the share price. i had my first bad day today my portfolio dropped 2% including my favourites MPH,AHT,ACE etc. can't complain i suppose.30% up in 2 months. | barryrog
20/10/2004 20:19 | Yep, interesting timing, and somebody bought 50k within seconds ! It does look very promising, but don't think the RNS in itself is enough to put on more than 1p. Your estimate could be about right. If a lot more speculators come in then RAB can sell a few more ! | ukhawk
20/10/2004 19:54 | what do you make of the time the announcement was made? a bit too late in the day to generate interest but whats to stop the price going up tomorrow and even getting close to the discussion price? i was half expecting the talks to have broken down, but after 2 months and they clearly haven't, they may be just dotting the i's and crossing the t's. an announcement could be made on friday. opening tomorrow 10/11.5 i reckon. | barryrog
20/10/2004 19:30 | Barryrog, and there's me thinking it was my email.............lo | ukhawk
20/10/2004 15:53 | The real statement reads.... "We're close to a deal but if the share price drops any further the beggars will knock 2p off the price!" | ukhawk
20/10/2004 15:38 | Looks like they're making sure the share price doesn't slip any further. | ukhawk
20/10/2004 15:38 | at least we now know that it is still going on even if it only a repeat of that which we all knew anyway. | d8raider
20/10/2004 15:37 | Thanks for that d8raider, I'd missed the little 'A' on my screen. Late announcement caught me on the hop. "Preliminary approach" is not very detailed, however. Hope to see some financials soon. "Decisions are continuing with the potential offeror" is a very odd form of words... do we hope for a Freudian slip there? Decisions implies something is likely to be decided! Or am I reading too much into a rushed-out statement? | edmundshaw
20/10/2004 15:33 | Fills you with confidence when discussions is spelt decisions | ferrettoast
20/10/2004 15:29 | Sounds promising... and a tick-up, so mm's must think so to ! | ukhawk
20/10/2004 15:22 | RNS Number:2987E Honeygrove Group PLC 20 October 2004 Honeygrove Group Plc Talks Update On 26 August the Directors of Honeygrove Group Plc announced that a preliminary approach had been made to the Board which might or might not lead to an offer being made for the entire issue share capital of the Company. Decisions are continuing with the potential offeror. A further announcement will be made in due course. | d8raider
19/10/2004 15:54 | It's still less than 2 months since the initial takeover statement, but seems more like 6 ! Price continues to drift, and no leaks either way, soon be back to the Shares mag tip price. | ukhawk
11/10/2004 12:54 | Well, still plenty of talk about consolidation in the sector, and most of the big boys up today on speculation (as highlighted on "working lunch"). Maybe there are 4 or 5 of them fighting over Honeygrove, lol. | ukhawk
10/10/2004 18:54 | Barryrog, yep still holding, and will continue to do so until a conclusion is reached. I'm heavily into RAB Capital at the moment, and doing very nicely. The money tied up in Honeygrove would have been in RAB, so it's cost me some lost profit too. I still believe that Honeygrove is fundamentally sound, and the share price would probably have been higher by now without the takeover news. If the takeover doesn't happen ( and I still believe it will), then the inevitable mark-down would be a good time to top-up. Good luck with MPH, looks sound. | ukhawk
10/10/2004 18:38 | barryrog yes how many times have people lost patience and moved on only to rue the day. | tuteratut
10/10/2004 11:23 | ukhawk, i thought i would post to show i was still here. although i am still holding,i could be doing so much better than having money tied up here.in particular, i am a very large (by my standards)long term holder in MPH and should be topping up with the interims in under 2 weeks looking to be spectacular. that said,i told myself i would stay with this share until the outcome of the takeover talks.i have this childish nightmare that the moment i sell, a takeover is announced at 15p a share and i have thrown away a 35% potential gain. are you still holding? | barryrog
01/10/2004 12:15 | Somebody buys 100k and we get a tick-up, can't be bad. | ukhawk
28/9/2004 21:51 | Yep, I know it's not unusual, and can take a lot longer than 3 months sometimes, but just think (hope) this may happen a bit quicker. Good to see you making a prediction though..........!!! | ukhawk
28/9/2004 21:42 | Three months would not be unusual for such a matter to get resolved, either way. Not that I am making a prediction. | edmondj
28/9/2004 21:33 | All very quiet this week so far. I'd like to think that if the two sides (if it's only two) weren't close to an agreement then we'd have heard by now that the whole thing was off. Doesn't normally take too long to find out there's no middle ground, but can take an age for both sides' lawyers to cross the i's, etc. | ukhawk
