31/3/2016 18:29 | I've bought a few of these on weakness. The dividend signal was very bullish in my view. Happy to hold long term. | topvest

29/2/2016 18:53 | Today HYD announced it is acquiring Hydro-Logic, which provides consultancy services and measuring instrumentation and techniques to the water industry. Some of the brains are staying with the business too. Looks like a good fit to me since the work of Hydro-Logic could provide a foot in the door opportunity for the supply of HYD kit, but we all know how such takeovers can go wrong. Anyway, perhaps explains the recent share price increase, and I will be hanging on for the time being. | dozey3

21/1/2016 13:07 | I suspect that this is an activist move, and that it effectievly means that the company is "in play"....Panmure Gordon are still buyers on Hannovers behalf at 154p in any quantity, so my reaction was to buy some more...trade not showing as yet. | waggle
21/1/2016 12:14 | Hanover Investors buy 17%. Turnaround specialists. I'm scratching my head a bit as to what turnaround could be done here? | charlie
08/9/2015 20:45 | Had this on my watch list but will resist the temptation for now. Although it looks a reasonable business it isn't yet very profitable and the small profits it does make get taxed very heavily. Looks like a dressed-up profit warning for the 2nd half. All a bit odd. We were expecting a weak H1 and a very strong H2 but what now seems to have come through is a strong H1 and a weaker than expected H2. All points to profitability being quite marginal in my view. | topvest
08/9/2015 11:47 | Agree, 18BT, and the Admin Expenses increase is also horrendous. Let's hope all the additional expert staff they have taken on board start to earn their corn, and that turnover/profit increase commensurately in the coming year. In addition I am surprised at the large currency loss considering the good performance in the US with the high dollar, and that manufacturing (at least part) is on the continent with a weak Euro. Lets hope that doesn't recur either. All in all I remain a committed holder because they are financially solid, and the field in which they operate won't go out of fashion any time soon. A few large orders coming through could see a re-rating IMO. | dozey1
08/9/2015 07:14 | That's a big increase in interim profits. Tax rate is hoorendous owing to losses in UK and profits in the US, but no doubting the underlying trend. | 18bt
12/7/2015 14:55 | Interesting company but appears to struggle to grow the topline much - any views on catalysts for growth here? | hydrus
06/5/2015 22:00 | Guess it's been tipped somewhere, unless a decent order has leaked onto the market. Of course always a chance that a smaller company IT has lighted on the compelling valuation. | dozey3
06/5/2015 13:53 | Very annoyed at not buying around the 90p mark in 2013 when I was very very tempted having followed the company for over 10 years but was looking for 80p (ish) entry point - just shows sometimes you have to pay up... | norbert colon
06/5/2015 13:23 | Eh up - what's going on here? | 18bt
03/3/2015 08:55 | These shares now look v gd value IMHO and the market seems to agree. share price only = approx NAV and they now look for a period of growth with cash on the balance sheet. I like the structural story here, but it is a very small company. | 18bt
03/3/2015 08:50 | Results today: basically turnover similar but margins better so profits up. Still no debt and all indications positive with regard to order intake, product development and international expansion. Disappointed no token increase in divi, but after a thin couple of years this could be a good entry point IMO. For some reason I'm unable to paste a link to the results. | dozey3
04/2/2015 07:46 | Acquisition this morning. No fin details so assume very small. At least they seem to be trying a few things | 18bt
06/3/2014 00:58 | These don't look particularly expensive to me. Americas appears to be going great guns and with a nice cash buffer propping up the balance sheet i'll look to maybe buy a few if they get much cheaper. | arthur_lame_stocks
05/3/2014 20:43 | Yep, I went out a few days/weeks ago... Will be back, no doubt in the future. | witheco
04/3/2014 09:59 | Glad I sold. The numbers are not encouraging and they are unlikely to improve in the near future. 80 - 90p is my re-entry range now. Perhaps best to look back in 12 or 18 months. | alanrussell
04/3/2014 08:14 | I used to be a shareholder here, and I like the "idea" of the company, but it's underperformed for so long.... With 5.3p EPS, and today's outlook statement extremely dull for the year ahead, plus AMP5 coming to an end, plus a likely continued high tax charge with the increased percentage of overseas sales, the outlook is cloudy for some time to come. For me the share price would have to be at around 60p-65p to be of interest - at 65p a P/E of 12.3 would still only be reasonably decent value (HYD does have a £3m cash pile which is probably necessary to give its large customers reassurance over the Balance Sheet). | rivaldo |
