Dan Betts, Managing Director of Hummingbird Resources, said:

"The additional funds raised through this placing, at a premium of 18% to our recent raising in June, give us the optionality to unlock additional value at Yanfolila with added flexibility to look at developing additional near mine resources whilst we target production next year.

"Another avenue for considerable further upside is our Gonka deposit, 5km south of the gold plant location, which is not currently included in the Yanfolila mine plan. Gonka's Scoping Study, released in February 2016, showed the potential for mining ore at greater than 4.5g/t. Further infill drilling, if successful, could bring this into the Reserves category and potentially add material ounces to our production profile for very limited capital."

Sounds like more good news here :) placing done at premium too, HUM shares are in demand! Near mining targets means we could have revenue coming in before production starts in the flagship :)

Randgold Resources RRS with a market cap of £8.08 billion at £86.35 a share might be interested in Hummingbird's Yanfolila future mine in Mali.

RRS's Loula Gounkoto mine = 7.8m oz Au at $675 per oz AISC and Morila mine 0.3m oz at $674 per oz AISC - both in Mali.

HUM's Yanfolila future mine = 2.2m oz Au at $695 per oz AISC in mali between Loula Gounkoto and Morilla.

HUM's Dugbe future mine = 4.2m oz Au in Liberia.

It will be a long time until production, end of 2017, so I can see lots of reasons for this to be marked down. I will buy more on dips.
