Fair play, You are a brave man, 8000 Shares would have netted you £2,380 after Stamp duty and commission ? Why not use CDF,s.You can use stop losses then.Have you ever had a big purchase go wrong ?

Its not unusual for me to jump in with £90000-100000 and back out again with a few hours. I have used this strategy for many years now. And it work ok for me

The share seems to move along with FT100 index most of the time. One thing I really do not understand that why FT100 index move up in much smaller percentage that German and Wall street indexes, but when falling, it seems to be very exacerbated than the latter two indexes. Is it anything to do with Brexit uncertainty?
Would appreciate some enlightenment on this.

many thanks,

I agree its not quite time to buy as HSBC tries to reorganise itself - a slow business when you have a tanker to turn round!

China is the key here as it to struggles to turn an economy from exports to domestic consumption.............just have a look at which industries are to be closed down and banded from trading............

If you do want to buy drip feed over the next few months and reinvest the dividends.............

Garycook. My point was i have seen people ramping hsbc for a few years now and it has continued to fall. People have lost a lot of money here. Im in hsbs private clients and this share was pushed to me for years. I resisted because i believe a fair price has not yet been achieved. Hsbc has way too much exposure to china. And it is not yet baked into the pie. So for me. I see it going lower. For the record i called hsbc down to £4.40 when it was north of £.6.50. So infact i was correct. So you are correct. I really believe. In this case. I did know better.
