The original offer period expired 12 June. This has been extended to 26 June. My guess is that it will be extended again by a further week. The offer is likely to remain open even after the offer period expires and the offer is declared unconditional. I believe that the original offer period expiry date is important because from a point three weeks after that date, if the offer is not yet unconditional, people who had accepted the offer can withdraw that acceptance (which those of you who had the offer accepted on your behalf by nominees would be able to take advantage of, only, provided they get more than 75% acceptance I expect the offer to be declared unconditional).

Thanks for imfo but had enough sitting around hoping on this one so bailed out 50% this afternoon .........then decided 'sod it' and sold the lot!

Not a massive amount of stock but risk of losing anything far outways any possible gain(very unlikely imo).

Got stuck into NSB instead.........looks promising after contract announcement!

Will follow HOL saga though..............good luck to any remaining holders.........including HOT!!

I'm sure the barbie will be on whatever happens with HOL.........
FISHER will get a serious kicking if he ever crosses my path!!!!!!!!

Winterflood bought the shares (see todays RNS, only one transaction went through yesterday for 50k). They were marked as a sale because somebody sold them, it just happens that Winterflood are MMs and they are amassing rather than trading.

you have to be careful of market maker holdings as they can often be "offset" against short positions elsewhere. Ie MM holding or buying 100k and the other side of the chinese wall short 100k.

Dont beleive the hype as public enemy would say!

Purely an observation that WINS seem to be buying rather than selling. After checking through the EMM statements since April WINS have amassed 972,000 shares on top of what they already held and they have steadily increased their holding week on week. Deutch have amassed 3,673,000, one great big purchase of 2.5m on 16 June - being used for Long CFD contracts. Couldn't say how much they held before April but the big question is are they anti bid - one would hope so after their anti cheap buy out remarks. CSFB haven't done much since 21 May and they sold most of what they bought up until this period - I guess this went to the MBO team since a large portion was bought and sold at the same price on the same day.

Graham Reddish has been sending letter from Holmes to shareholders that sent in letters about the bid.Thge replies have just stated that they can't make any comment as due to the current offer period.Remind me who Reddish is guys ?

Thanks for info.....but for what reason would they amass rather than trade them if there wasn't any potential of a rise in the share price, as everyone seems to be saying?

If HOL is dead and buried why would they buy 50,000?

Notice on the trades for yesterday it was shown as a sell yet today they disclose that it was a buy....?

Could anyone explain please?

This is good news. I alone own 0.5% of HOL and am going to hang on to them until I am offered what I consider to be a true and fair value. I'm sure there are larger shareholders than I who share this view.
