Okay, I don't think the rules will be adhered to imo - they will get bent, people with come up with fictional income from places etc. Banks will be have responsibly for a moth or two but they want to make money and at the end of the day it's us guaranteeing these mortgages, not them.

I did say 'starting' to (as per the article below) - I believe there is something like a 90 day lag now from application to approval - you can just start to see this effect at the end of the graph in your link

I think it is the fourth consecutive monthly fall in mortgage approvals - think the mortgage values are higher because of London & South East?



Will be an interesting one to watch though

Mortgage approvals falling off a cliff?



Mortgages are up 13% year on year still - and the mortgage values are higher.

The only issue I see with Builders is that Mortgage Approvals are starting to fall off a cliff

FTBs really struggling so depends whether BTL landlords take up the slack

That said new house reservations are still flying high
