09/3/2006 18:57 | you have to say they look very cheap....just a pity they're such an inconsistant group and so prone it seems to proportionally large bad debts. At least they maintained the (good) yield. For the time being at least and even after the rise today, can't see there being much downside from these levels of c. 88p | myopia
09/3/2006 08:24 | These are excellent results and the share price will show this very soon!! | amarcou
20/12/2005 18:18 | well re your last point, maybe we can't be as certian of that as we used to be...otherwise wouldn't they have reassured us on that? | myopia
20/12/2005 13:28 | Hmmm, Not really bad IMO. I liked the last para. "The board believes that the results for the year to 30 November 2005 will be below current market expectations principally due to the impact of the non-recurring costs of the European rationalisation coupled with the previously reported bad debt in the UK of #53,000. The Group was cash generative in the year and the balance sheet remains strong." Dividend to remain unchanged given the strong balance sheet? | amarcou
13/12/2005 19:33 | Cheers for that AM....I too hope Topgrow will start to perform as well as they have suggested its just a question how well and the Markets reaction this time round.. fingers crossed.. | mitzis
13/12/2005 18:35 | Mitzis, Hard to tell given the last RNS on results was in July ; a lot of things have happened since. Screen Circuit losses now stopped? If so this will have a positive impact on overall results. Operations in first half were at budgeted levels; second half? Topgrow ( where most of us have all our hopes ) has broken even in first half. I expect to see profit in the second half but I have no clue as to the levels of such profits. We can only wait and see. | amarcou
13/12/2005 10:25 | What are you expecting for the year end AM.. good or bad news.. | mitzis
13/12/2005 08:48 | Or even days!! | amarcou
12/12/2005 19:16 | I suppose with the year end out we should see some more interest over the next couple of months. | amarcou
09/12/2005 13:50 | At kast some price action after a very quiet period for all holders.. | mitzis
13/10/2005 20:06 | another 10k buy today...nice to see you BB.. | mitzis
09/10/2005 21:57 | Yep, still here. share price picking up nicely - hope to break a £1. News from China would be good. | britishbear
08/10/2005 09:33 | Any one notice the renewed buying the last 2 days with a 15k trade Thursday and yesterdays 5k buy which have supported the share price ..? | mitzis
12/8/2005 09:57 | Option granted to one of the Directors for 25000 shares. | mitzis
25/7/2005 23:38 | Stan, The dividend is still comfortably covered by profits;FACT The dividend has been at 4.50p since 30.11.00 ( and at 4.75 last year); FACT The company has plenty of reserves (over £2.5m of revenue reserves);FACT Of course anything can happen but IMO it is unlikely for the dividend not to be maintained. | amarcou
25/7/2005 19:25 | the dividend has been cut before; fact. I wish I had your certainty but I remember all the bullishness before the final results last time and yet my warnings proved pretty spot on. | stan
25/7/2005 08:50 | The dividend will not be cut; fact. That is the policy of the company and they have plenty of reserves. | barnetpeter
25/7/2005 08:43 | Stan, You do not budget to have bad debts;I still believe they are one off in the context I describe them and in order to reconcile the half year result against the bumper one last year. The so called "big profits fall" has easily been explained and given this was the worst period and the divi was maintained there is no reason for it not to be maintained or even increased in the future. The dividend is still comfortably covered from current profits. China is still the big growth story here. | amarcou
22/7/2005 21:54 | i disagree with the bad debts occurrence being termed a "one-off" by some on this board. Seems to me that this company quite regularly has the misfortune to incur, in percentage terms, quite significant bad debts and that there is no reason it won't continue to happen in the future or even in the second half. Nevertheless, in spite of the big profits fall, the results were perhaps more reassuring than could have been expected. The big question is whether the dividend will be maintained at last year's level. If it is and if there is reason to believe that it will be in the future then the shares are obviously worth holding at the very least. | stan
19/7/2005 12:06 | I agree its looking much better now. Again, a classic example of the chart indicating the news would be fine. Would like to see the stock drift back to 85 so i can add so stop buying you lot! | barnetpeter
19/7/2005 11:56 | BB, Agreed;but the £200k is after the Screen Circuit loss of £155k and bad debts. IMO second half will be a lot better and as you said when the Chinese profits kick in we will be up and away. In the meantime we have a very good yield AND Net assets per share of £1.13p ( net assets £4.692m and shares of 4,144k). Very little downside now. | amarcou
19/7/2005 11:43 | amarcou - sorry - Was talking about the Chinese Topgrow that is breaking even. Rest of the company, as you say, made a PBT of nearly £200,000. The growth story is all about China. That is why I am invested (along with an excellent yield). | britishbear
19/7/2005 09:45 | Britishbear, Currently breaking even? The PBT of £182k is AFTER the one offs;second half WILL be better IMO. | amarcou
19/7/2005 09:25 | Looks good - full year expectations are good, small debt, good yield and potential for large growth in China. It is currently breaking even - when profits kick in they could grow rapidly. Holding and may buy on weakness. | britishbear
19/7/2005 08:46 | Correct.China is a low cost country with plenty of growth for Holders. | mitzis |
