Dusseldorf - the Directors of a company are obliged to review the carrying value of goodwill annually with a view to amortise the same should the "brand" be seen to be worth less than that capitalised in accounts. With the "colourful" history and chequered trading past of this company I would suggest that the "brand reputation" of this company may more suitably be classisfied as an "intangible liability" - but I defer to your accounting knowledge.

kemche - It's 'brand reputation', if a company is perceived as being top in class, that should add 'intangible asset' value to any sale price. Brand is quite important is some businesses in terms of valuation for sale.

I am asking myself that question. Must admit I did not realise the stock market valued companies on "respect" - has the LSE moved to Brixton unbeknownst to me?

Should a company as well respected as this be worth a paltry 0.54p/share ?

Ask yourselves that question.

'dontshoot',
I see you continue to slander me and mislead investors with your posts.

Why mislead people?
When on the 24th January was it ever 1p? Utter lies and nonsense.

On the 24th Jan. it opened at 0.77p and had dropped to 0.52p by 8:42am (within 42 minutes!)
Anyone can check it out for themselves, and see your dishonesty and blatant attempts to mislead investors. The trades are here (go to date 24/01/13), just click on this link:

I thought the price would fall to around 0.50p - 0.55p before stabilising, so made my first buys at around 9am on the morning of the 24th February. I continued buying, picking quite a few more up below 0.50p, and a few above. By the end of the day I had built quite a big position. Including dealing costs my average buying price was just under 0.51p. I have since added at 0.50p or less and my average buy price is now very close to 0.50p. In fact I added another 350,000 today. I have the contract notes to prove it, although I don't have to answer to you or anyone else.

I really don't care who believes me. I deal only on my own account, but am happy to share my views and reasoning. Only a fool would believe anything a short-seller would say. A short-seller who only profits from the losses and misery of decent, genuine investors and shareholders.
Who, other than another short seller would take any notice of you?

I only have one ID here. Obviously NoToHCLOffer is another of your ludicrous, childish monikers. I'll be pointing that post and slanderous accusation out to ADVFN later. I'm sure they'll soon be able to confirm its another one of your multitude of IDs. You probably have hundreds by now!

I'm content to let Tosca&Co have my shares at 0.54p, and take my 8%. I welcome what they did. I welcome their 'offer' - it puts a line under the price, and I'm adding anytime it falls to 0.50p or less. Easy money - a gift horse. It enables me to sleep well, in the knowledge that I can't lose. I look forward to adding even more tomorrow, if the opportunity arises. I'll take an easy 8% profit all day long!

nobody really believes a word you say

you arrived on here with a flurry of posts on the morning of the 24th January when the price was collapsing from 1p to 0.4p yet you claim to have an average of 'less than 0.54' - pull the other one

funny how NoToHCLOffer isn't posting since I outed it as being your sock-puppet

I may be some things, but dishonest - no. Just a down to earth, ordinary jo. That's me.

You can bet there are predators and PE companies running their slide rules over this.

Okay so the Tosca&Co concert party have a potentially blocking holding, but as a rival to another suitor this power would be significantly reduced. If a compelling higher bid came in from a rich, powerful company (perhaps even an unlisted one looking for a London Market Listing), Tosca&Co would have to match it. The BOD should, in all fairness, recommend the highest/best offer. The bank would certainly be happy with a rich 'white knight' appearing!
HLO's worth a LOT more than £5m impo. Possibly as much as £20m.

Not fussed either way. Will be satisfied with 0.54p if it comes to it. I'll continue to add at every opportune moment. Money in the bank as far as I'm concerned!

'time'? It's been ONE day for goodness sake.

So you want daily updates now!?

I don't even get up at 7.30am looking for an update anymore! Not a worry in the world.

The MMs are happy to collect cheaply sold stock. Why's that? Because they know they'll be able to sell it to Tosca&Co for 0.54p. MMs aren't risk-takers - not to the tune of c. 8m shares anyway! And that's just today. Money in the bank for them I guess.

Sleep well bears and hope goldilocks and her white knight don't ride up to the gate in the morning.

Dear oh dear.

I guess that's the problem with trading bombed out stocks. Very rarely can one have an honest straight forward discussion on the thread. Always folks with an agenda which makes them act like spoilt babies who tell porkies(not referring to you Dusseldorf)

Whatever you say bozzy_s. I don't post anything I don't believe and will defend my bullish viewpoint against any of those posted by bears (whether or not they are short).

What I don't like is un-invested 'trainspotters' with nothing better to do than post comments which cost investors money.

I can understand it from someone who is openly 'short', but not someone who has no financial position either way. That, to me, is just trying to hurt existing shareholders.

Despite what you say about someone being 'positive on most stocks', that is clearly not the case (or apparent case) here judging from his posts.

Accordingly, I will always fight my corner and that of existing holders.

I believe this share to be worth AT LEAST 0.54p - the price in the offer proposed by Tosca&Co.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and only time will tell who's right.

PS. How would you feel if someone visited the BBs where you are long and just sat on the sidelines posting non-stop negatives?

And that job on the Board means looking after interests of shareholdres......yeah, yeah, yeah.

Wonder if all Board would survive a private HLO ? Surely the Board would be culled ? Chance to stand up to bullying majority shareholder as a swan song ?

JoJo_Jo - You have shot something, but it's holes in your own feet several times. Though it's you who appears to have the loaded gun, I still feel quite safe even in the same room.

as for this...
On the contrary you have been dishonest AND cast aspertions on the integrity of directors, including a former high ranking Standard Chartered Bank executive.

This comment alone dropped you 10pts on my muppet indicator.

By all means forward all my statements to the company.

You appear to be 'all in' HLO perhaps with informal links to one or more members of staff with a blinkered view of what 'could' happen. I've never stated any of my comments WILL happen, however you have repeatedly posted 'can't lose' 'guaranteed profit' 'no brainer'.

Clearly one of us is engaging brain, the other is not, others can decide who.

I remain interested in buying.

Dusseldorf, thankyou for that further childish slander. Predictable!

You clearly can't 'engage' with anyone who disagrees with you and finds it easy to shoot gaping holes in your (often dishonest) statements.
