Maybe rivaldo should change his moniker to glasshalfempty - or daytrader? :-)

I was going to express the same sentiments regarding £FX and export potential but you beat me to it.
Also even at EPS of 8.09p, this was a relativley good performance considering less than 6 month contribution from PB which is probably still in the bedding in process.

Hi rivaldo

H2 weighted is usually an issue, but for me a surging order book and the accompanying medium term revenue visibility vastly reduces the risk.

Additionally we have "The Group is exposed to the US Dollar through its operating business in the USA and from UK exports to China. On a constant exchange rate2 basis revenue and operating profit in FY2015 would have been higher by £1.9 million and £0.7 million respectively." which tells us that weak sterling gives them a strong tailwind as this unwinds and becomes a substant net positive.

The share price now is in the hands of institutions who imho will see an increasingly diverse ,export growth story , the 0.4m goodwill on PB acq. also underlines what a great deal that was.

I sold immediately on the bell in tranches, taking advantage of the surprisingly large initial mark-up.

I think the MMs were blindsided by the headline EPS, which is somewhat misleading as the "true" EPS was 8.09p if you strip out the exceptional tax benefits.

Primarily I was concerned about trading which HAYT themselves say will be "heavily weighted" towards H2.

This increases the risk element for me, and also indicates that perhaps the shares will go nowhere or drift back downwards again for quite a while.

I'd rather exit for the moment and come back when HAYT look more optimistic and/or have reassured over the full year outcome.

Good luck all - I may well be back at the appropriate time.

At the current price which seems to be between 85 and 88, PE ratio is now under 10. Has to be a good buy.

With a sterling cost base they are overnight 10% more efficient - bodes well for margins and outlook.

The share price surge was prior to the Shares Mag review, which was only posted yesterday.

We know that the results will show a big advance on last year. Given the wording I'm expecting between 7.8p and 8.2p historic EPS. With the large order book increase I'm hopeful for the outlook this year.

And although O&G is only a small part of the business, the recent oil price bounce may be enough to cause flickers of activity in this area - and HAYT stand to benefit in a major way once this takes hold given the alliance with the mighty FMC.

The review in shares magazine is probably why we rose the other day. Only 2 days to go for news. I am still a tad nervous.. we shall see!!

HAYT have been reviewed in Shares Magazine - subscriber-only though:

"Hayward earnings gain expected

Hayward Tyler (HAYT:AIM), manufacturer of industrial pumps and motors, is expected to report (5 Jul) a 23% jump in full year underlying earnings per share. Earnings, should receive a kick from Peter Brotherhood, a steam turbine business acquired from Siemens (SIE:FRA) in ... "

Agreed rhomboid.

Things online are looking very encouraging. I can sell 15,000 at a premium at 75.2p, whilst the maximum I can buy is just 1,500 at 77.8p.

Which also shows that investors should always ignore the published spread - online is usually much better, as proven today.

I'm sure those who subscribed at 90p have a longer term view of what HAYT will become over time , my investing horizon here is a decade plus as long as they continue to deliver operationally.

The big spread is not an attraction. It's not pleasant to take an instant loss. But a big spread usually just means that the price is wrong - too expensive or too cheap. In this case I think it's the latter.

Apart from the spread I can see plenty of reasons to start a position here. US$ earnings should be very good for the bottom line. Also, HAYT raised nearly £10m at 90p only 6 months ago. Some impressive names on the investor list, including the canny guy who runs the North Atlantic Small Co/s investment trust. Results in the next week or so. So I have bought a starter pack.

Yep, great to see the sudden surge of buying yesterday afternoon ahead of next Tuesday's results. Perhaps an overhang has now been cleared.

Forecasts are for 8.2p EPS with a 1.4p dividend, which puts HAYT on a single-figure P/E despite excellent order books, a transformational acquisition, doubling of capacity, decent asset backing etc etc.

Considering that 88% of HAYT's revenues last year cam from overseas, and that HAYT specifically noted that their main exposure was to the US dollar, they may well benefit substantially this year from the now much weaker pound.

No updates, seems harsh given only 12% of revenue is UK generated. Not holding currently but getting very tempted.
