If Perloff paid 13p that is the minimum. I would expect 15p as a minimum. All gone very well for me here so far. I thought this would happen and it was a bargain when you could buy in at less than 13p. Follow the Perloff!

My hindsight has been expensive.
I have held Hawtin as a tiny shareholding since 1972, when I was dumped it by a broker in exchange, my choice, for a blue chip!A 30+ year dog!!
I clearly had a very good crystal ball by this stage, but others on here had mapped out the way things have gone, and then left the party.
I bought a minimal holding for my sipp just in case at less than Perloff.
I hope we all get a few quid more than the Building society interest out of this offer.
Perloff will from his reputation the minimum, and as a director he will know. It's only to cut his costs after all.

What odds on 'may not', this is now a one way bet, as it always was once Panther bought into the stock. Where were the rest of the buyers? What about the deathly silence on here this last month.
Leek what leek!

Good news....

"HAWTIN PLC ("HAWTIN" OR "THE COMPANY")

The Board of Hawtin announces that it is in discussions with Panther Securities
PLC ("Panther"), the Company's largest shareholder holding, with associates 29.7
per cent. of the issued share capital of the Company, which may or may not lead
to an offer for the Company by Panther. Shareholders are advised to take no
action at this time. A further announcement will be made as soon as possible."

Yes, it looks like it may take a while. Then again with NAV of 16.4p and tax losses available the current valuation doesn't look expensive. We will have to wait and see what "It is actively seeking appropriate opportunities to build on our stable financial position" means. Happy to hold these for a couple of years to see what Perloff comes up with. Sounds to me like they will explore the "opportunities" first and if these don't come off then Panther may take Hawtin over at some point down the track. Lots of director buying is also a positive sign...someone sees value!

Just out of interest I have held this share for over 30years, a long term worthless disaster since the fall of the small banking sector in the 1974 crash.
I think I know Hawtin, and I have today bought a tiny holding for my sipp!
My motivation:price compared to the price paid by Perloff about 12 months ago.
What I have read about Perloff, and Panther on the BB's and finally the announcement of the approximately 10% holding built up by a pension fund.
I have finally dived in again !
I also had a disaster on Aquarius Platinum in the 80's & managed to get out of that by the turn of the century after an an amazing change of direction. I hope Hawtin proves another exciting ride, I have been feeling it should be a property shell for about 10 years, and I never understood why Mr Dovey could not see the opportunities. Still better late than never.

Panther have bought a chunk of the shares and hold just below 30%. I think Perloff will make a move and take the company over so that he can eliminate the overhead costs. All speculation, but I'm happy to follow Perloff - he is far smarter than me for finding a good property deal.

Just took a modest punt of 30K shares at 12.05 (not showing yet). It's a long time since I went down the 'value' property road. The last time it was with Grosvenor Holdings which looked too good to be true. In fact it was true - money for old rope. Fingers crossed that this will be in the same category.

Somebody sold 100,000 at the close. Surprising really. Unless there is some really bad news, and I doubt it, this is a bargain - now a penny under Perloff. Might snap some more up.

Decided to buy a few more of these today. It's amazing that you can still buy at under 12.5p when Perloff paid 13p imho.

Do you think Panther will take this company out by the end of April? I do - Panther are cash rich and this has to be a great deal as they can eliminate all of the company's cost base like they did on Euro City.
