Got my stock last march, only a small top-up last week.

If the zinc price goes up 50% and Gfm are producing 1.5 m I will be laughing.

cheers riv - interesting thoughts. I will have to look into this in depth and revert.

igoe - you are a brave man buying into a stock with a chart looking like that! Hopefully you will have the last laugh.

OFF Topic.

Talking of commodities gents, watch out for zinc over the next few year`s.

Zinc mines are closing down over the next couple of years, one being the century mine in Australia which is the 2nd biggest in the world 7% of the yearly zinc production (I think). and hardly any new zinc mines to replace them so a big zinc deficit is very much expected, and with world economy starting to pick up the demand for zinc will pick up as well, so expect the zinc price to rise due course, in a big way.

I`ve been buying GFM who are doubling production of there zinc mine in north-east china, to 1.5m the upgrade has been completed so they are just waiting for the license which they should receive in the next month.

OT : hi gargleblaster. I've held AVAP profitably in the past, but I don't like their extremely heavy exposure to the Australian natural resources sector, particularly iron ore, which has collapsed in price, and gold which is also well down. Imagine what will happen as and when current contracts expire and manpower requirements are inevitably heavily reduced in the current climate. And AVAP have huge borrowings to service....unless I'm misunderstanding it, their specific sector exposure is very, very risky.

The oil price continues to fall dramatically. This has to be great news for HGR8.

The re-rating here, especially bearing in kind the increasingly long-term and secure nature of HGR8's income, should continue imho.

Especially if there are further acquisitions from HGR8's cash pile.

macarre - that is entirely possible - there should be support at 149p. However the more general point is that these, AVAP and HGR8, are both very volatile - you just have to look at the charts! Important not to be over-committed - i.e. I would not suggest they are core holdings - unless you enjoy a rodeo ride! Bare in mind that patience means months (or years) not days.

The business models are good and they are both cheap, also I like the fact that knowledgeable investors like Mark Slater and Naked Trader are on board. I think there is money to be made if you hang in there. As always DYOR etc. and good luck.

gargleblaster - AVAP, still patiently waiting... there is a chance it may drop further to 149p.

My broker does not have any to sell right now. Good sign? Also note Avation's 11% drop right now. May provide good buy opportunity.

Oil prices predicted to fall further in 2015.

Can only be excellent news for hrg8.

These have to be a strong buy at this level.
hrg8 are a growing company with a decent cash pile to expand with, plus they should benefit hugely with the falling oil price.

As a group, airline share prices started to rebound (see S&P airline index above) around the middle of October when oil started on its current downward trend. On average jet fuel costs account for around 34pc of an airline's operating costs, so a 28pc decline in Brent should see healthier profits across the sector over time - many airlines hedge their fuel purchases - and rebounding share prices

macarre - yep - its a good sign in the very short term, but as rivaldo says its a very volatile stock, which is probably true for most stocks with a market cap of under £50 mil. imv like AVAP which is similar/same sector it is just one to sit tight with and ignore the ups and downs - the long term trend is up, the business model is good, so if we hang in there we should make money.

Here's your chance Adam! Just 12k shares traded, so the fall is meaningless, just proof of this stock's volatility.

Oil prices are likely to continue falling well into 2015, the International Energy Agency.

On Friday, Brent crude, one of the major price benchmarks, traded at $78.13 a barrel, near a four-year low.

"It is increasingly clear that we have begun a new chapter in the history of the oil markets," the IEA said.

"Barring any new supply problems, downward price pressures could build further in the first half of 2015

All this should drop nicely onto the bottom line.

A mate of mine who works as an analyst in the city once told me that it is a good sign when a company's share price rises a couple of days after the results. His reasoning was that it takes companies analyst's time to go through the accounts and if they reach a conclusion that the figures look good, then the fund managers start to buy. Perhaps this is happening here?

On the other hand, have you ever known a city boy who is not full of bull!

With 49p per share in cash, HGR8 looks even better value - that's 281p against the 30p EPS current year forecast, a P/E of only 9.4,

News just out - HGR8 to start transporting ebola patients....pretty lucrative I'd have thought:

"City jet operator set to carry patients
First published 3 hours ago

KIDLINGTON-based private jet operator, Hangar8, has equipped a plane to specifically transport Ebola patients in Africa.

The Bombardier Challenger long-range aircraft will fly out to Sierra Leone tomorrow to carry medical supplies from the company’s base at Oxford Airport, Kidlington.

The plane, which is owned by an aircraft leasing company, was delivered two weeks ago.

Hangar8 chief executive and founder, Dustin Dryden, said: “We have an aeromedical division in Africa. Moving critical patients is something we’ve been doing for a long time.”

Although the plane can carry up to two Ebola patients at once, it will start with a single patient.

While many private jet operators only carry the patients, Hangar8 also supplies a doctor and paramedic to travel with them.

Mr Dryden said: “We are the first port of medical care.”

The plane will be used to carry Ebola patients within Africa, or to repatriate workers to European hospitals for treatment.

Mr Dryden said multi-national companies had a legal duty of care to protect their staff against diseases such as Ebola. .

In addition, having a plane equipped to fly them back home provided a sense of reassurance, even if it was not used by their staff, he added."
