02/9/2015 11:18 | You're obviously not a cyclist if you think one bike is enough. | v11slr
02/9/2015 11:14 | The cycle market is quite possibly entering a post growth stage. i.e. Anyone who wants one most probably now has one. As a point of interest I went into a Halfords yesterday to ask about electric bikes. That branch didn't even sell them but said I might try my luck at couple of other Halfords locally! Also to try a Cycle Republic. If there is growth to be had in the cycle market it is certainly in electric bikes. Either new ones or conversions (kits as well). Potential here is huge! I think Ms McDonald's mindset is still on food where people get hungry about three times a day. Usually one bike is sufficient for most. | eggbaconandbubble
02/9/2015 11:13 | 6 Broker notes out now - Buy, Buy, Buy, Buy, Hold Neutral: | cockneyrebel
02/9/2015 09:50 | They seem to have lost out against 'ordinary' cheapoe bikes that are sold everywhere Kendo: " The disappointing Cycling performance was primarily driven by mainstream bikes, as well as associated parts and accessories. We consider this to be principally market-driven, reflecting greater levels of discounting as well as poor weather deterring casual cyclists. Cycle Repair LfL growth remained strong at +27.6%. As we exit the peak season for mainstream bikes we will launch a complete refresh of children's bikes and accessories alongside a series of compelling offers for customers, underpinned by continued product and service training for colleagues. Looking further ahead, we have an exciting pipeline of innovation for bikes and accessories and we remain confident in the medium and long-term growth opportunities in the cycling market" Tell me now - what proportion of the business are bikes and of that what are the mainstream ordinary bikes? I think that weakness could reverse quite quickly but that aside - the automotive sectors are going great (their biggest part of the business) and with used car sales set to be very strong (read Pendragon results) then HFD stand to benefit even more there imo. Several brokers out today with Buy, Hold and Neut - no sells that I see; All imo CR | cockneyrebel
02/9/2015 09:40 | All sold up see you next summer x | nick9013
02/9/2015 09:29 | My oh my, dear oh dear, horror of horrors! It appears that some of my worst assumptions have come light?Looks like it's going to smash its way through £4.50 by sept 22nd easily. | kendonagasaki
02/9/2015 09:03 | An over-reaction in the share price imo. "Trading in all other areas of Halfords Retail remains strong and in line with, or above, expectations, particularly Car Maintenance where Parts was a standout performer. Customer service metrics continue to improve. Actions in Autocentres continue to drive profitable growth. " The Autocentres are by far the bigger piece of the business and the fact they are making up any weakness in cycling is a testament to their strength imo. 3.5% yield too and nice buy point on the chart imo - free stock charts from uk.advfn.com | cockneyrebel

14/8/2015 11:04 | Sorry been away on my bike;-)More on that ESIB note from last week. Espirito Santo Investment Bank has initiated coverage on Halfords (LON:HFD) with a buy investment rating, stating that it thinks it should be classed as a company with the ability to generate long-term "consistent earnings growth". The broker added: "...in theory, returning £110m, coupled with dividends and c. 9% EPS growth suggests Halfords would be one of the highest ranking TSR companies amongst its peers over the next 3 years, yet it trades at a significant discount to them, 14x FY2017e PER." Analysts have set an initial fair value of 620 pence per share. Berenberg, intersting to find out their reasoning but they did up their target fron 390 to 490p. | shauney2
14/8/2015 08:46 | A combination of the chart and Chinese devaluation has persuaded me to open up a small position here. I have been looking to add some UK retailers to my portfolio, and this looks as good a place as any to start. | connor23
13/8/2015 11:32 | Liberum note out today with HFD as a beneficiarry of China devaluation. 30-40% cost of sales come from Far East while 100% UK sales they say. CR | cockneyrebel
13/8/2015 08:26 | Sanity returning? Lower Chinese currency, cheaper buy in price from China for HFD potentially, imo. CR | cockneyrebel
11/8/2015 11:21 | China devalues - better margins for chinese made bikes and car parts for HFD imo. CR | cockneyrebel
10/8/2015 11:50 | Nice buy point on the chart Kendo - imo: free stock charts from uk.advfn.com | cockneyrebel

04/8/2015 20:17 | An all time closing high tonight Kendo - one of the best 'fill ya boots' signals going when that previous high was 5 years ago - imo. Chart suggests the co is doing better than they are letting on imo. All imo CR | cockneyrebel
04/8/2015 15:18 | Kendo first time I have looked at this site for a while. You should be ashamed of the language you use iyts not warranted. | tiger20 |
