19/12/2016 09:58 | Ballychan Agreed, but they must be pretty upset by the fall from 779p, which has cost them millions! | mylands
19/12/2016 09:44 | jfishy ..I still dont understand your fixation with the quarter by quarter numbers when the company has already said the NGR for the full year will come in at the upper end of expectations. All the variations you talk about were,it would seem, forecast by the brokers for whatever reasons imo. | nurdin
19/12/2016 09:34 | Ballychan, this is a top 250 company, with the most rigorous standards of corporate governance, what are you suggesting Sir? Ha ha. | festario
19/12/2016 09:31 | TrentEndBoy, I disagree, NGR is the most important metric for measuring sales the company has as it is a direct measurement of the companies main business. Profit is important too of course, however, it includes non-core items (such as currency rates) that will fluctuate. Thus NGR is the best way to understand how the core business is performing. That is why the board put so much stock in it. That said, if you prefer to rely on TA rather than fundamentals, then you never need to consider fundamentals! | jfishy55
19/12/2016 09:28 | Mylands thanks, do you think they use the closing price on 15th or an average of the days traded prices?Interesting how they manage to increase the special dividend on the same day they need the share price as high as possible! | ballychan
19/12/2016 09:16 | ballychan Simple, subtract £4.22 from the share price on the 15th and multiply it by the number options exercised. | mylands
19/12/2016 09:12 | Anyone know how much cash the Directors are receiving? Talk about a cryptic rns | ballychan
19/12/2016 09:10 | You are missing the point re: NGR. This can really move around with results. | trentendboy
19/12/2016 08:55 | Maddox, The situation WRT the NGR is: - Q3-16 NGR was less than Q2-16 which was concerning. - We waited for the Q4-16 pro-forma results & found a way to determine Q4-16 NGR which would be less than the previous quarter. - However, then someone found another way to extrapolate the Q4-16 figures which would imply an increase in NGR. For myself, I am waiting for the full year results to see the actual Q4-16 NGR figures stated in the accounts. I have a small holding here that I've had forever but have been waiting for the integration of bwin to be successful before buying back in properly (I rely on my pension now so am very risk averse). In the last trading statement, the company noted that this is proceeding better than planned. As such, I am ready to buy back in but I need to see the decline in NGR shown to be a one off blip. I also want to know the likely income once dividends are resumed (rather than one off specials). So for the moment I wait out for the Q4-16 (and possibly Q1-17) NGRs before I consider buying back in (and in turn this is dependant on the income). As the main directors have decided to choose cash rather than shares I feel this supports my decision - only time will tell! | jfishy55
19/12/2016 07:56 | Yes, was loss making - so good riddance - and cash can be used to pay down debt earlier. | woodhawk
19/12/2016 07:49 | Indeed. It also seemed to be loss making so double good news.Thought it would be worth more but nevermind | trentendboy
19/12/2016 07:45 | ... and the good news just keeps on rolling in - another 29 million Euros in the coffers!! | woodhawk
18/12/2016 15:37 | It's all swings and roundabouts, I expect the £ will shortly be in for another kicking when Brexit is right at the top of the agenda again, as it will be shortly. | woodhawk
18/12/2016 14:21 | Getting back to the macro issues rather than TA etc. which we can chat about forever and potentially not come to any significant conclusions. I'm interested to know what people thing about the state of the Turkish Lira. It's taken an absolute kicking over the last few months, and should hurt our adjusted earnings. Albeit mitigated by its reduced proportion of our overall earnings. The euro weakening over the recent weeks has also put pressure on share price IMO. That being said on forward earnings the shares are still dirt cheap. Here'a to a good 2017! | diviincomesearch
16/12/2016 20:41 | Dark pool at its best. | srpactive
16/12/2016 19:31 | Massive after hours trades gone through bringing the total traded to 3.46 million, including one trade of 1.287 million at 647p done at 4.36pm. Fascinating to see these very large volumes but none involving the major holders, up to now that is. | mylands
16/12/2016 18:13 | Hi fishy, what's the latest on the NGR? Regards, Maddox | maddox
16/12/2016 16:25 | Late Yesterday...Nicholas Hyett, equity analyst at Hargreaves Lansdown, said: 'With results like that, you can understand why newly-merged Ladbrokes Coral might be interested in GVC's online gaming expertise.' The pair had been in talks about a potential takeover deal, but they broke down earlier this week. GVC shares gained 7.8 per cent, or 48p to 663p. | loganair
16/12/2016 15:42 | @ Velod - good one | mnomis
16/12/2016 14:00 | So the dart's not for sale then. | velod
16/12/2016 13:57 | velod Are you that desperate? Have faith in the numbers that Kenny has just released and you will be rewarded. The stock cannot stay down at this level when the fundamentals are so strongly in favour of a substantial re-rating of the stock. | mylands
16/12/2016 13:51 | Is that dart for sale anywhere? Ebay? I'll pay good money for it! | velod
16/12/2016 13:47 | Well, well, am I going to get my intraday reversal? | woodhawk
16/12/2016 13:40 | The mention of flipping a 20p coin to determine where the share price would go, reminds of the 'analyst' in Los Angeles in the early eighties who gave such good advice he became highly sought after as his stock picks did really well. Then one day he revealed his secret, which was to take the Wall Street Journal and pin it to the wall and then throw a dart at it. Where it landed became his stock pick. His picks were shown to be better than the real analysts! | mylands
16/12/2016 13:38 | I'm sure that chicken squawked "Buy!" before he died.... | woodhawk |
