21/10/2016 10:36 | Been adding here.... | nurdin
21/10/2016 10:32 | For shorts list go to the financial conduct authority Web site. It's better than second hand info websites. | alfie4048
21/10/2016 10:32 | Joan.... google short trackerFest... my experiance is that shorts manage to get out without the massive price rises that everyone talks about. Hedge funds tend to use algorithms that keep the price in a range. Shorts closing only have an effect on the share price if they need to get out quick due to unexpected news etc. | coppertrader
21/10/2016 10:27 | The good thing about shorters is that once they are satisfied with the drop they have created, then they are forced to buy the shares and the price shoots up.So, as long as the likes of us don't sell, (and perhaps buy a few), then these artificial dips are not such a problem. | festario
21/10/2016 10:18 | Where can you see the shorts position of a share? | joan of arc
21/10/2016 10:18 | ... and now dumping at 710 and 706p | festario
20/10/2016 16:59 | Declared shorts have increased from 1.64% yesterday to 1.73% today. So my suspicion was correct. | tffitch
20/10/2016 16:33 | overhang cleared I suspect from delayed trade. Can start the crawl (or run) back up now | trentendboy
20/10/2016 12:39 | 3 million volume already today?? No holdings RNS's?? | festario
20/10/2016 11:06 | Yes that's true SRP. | brownie69
20/10/2016 10:09 | It is all to do with the weightings of the company in the index, VOD will have a large weighting on the ftse 100 but a company just staying on will not. dyor regards active | srpactive
20/10/2016 09:46 | The trackers don't necessarily take very large positions in companies. Of course it depends on how big the fund is but I'd say that they are pretty much always likely to under 3%. After all its a big chunk of change to buy 3% in every FTSE 250 company. Just bought a few trading shares at 715p. Nothing to do with core holding, just something ive done occasionally when its been oversold. Stop is on at 705p and hoping for 740p. | brownie69
20/10/2016 07:06 | Do we still get quarterly guidance?? | alfie4048
20/10/2016 07:01 | I'm looking to add in the coming days, anyone have any idea of the date of the nest trading update. | shayadfn
20/10/2016 00:31 | So much for the FTSe tracker funds taking sizeable positions here then. | festario
19/10/2016 19:04 | Wrong on my forecast we wouldn't see 7000 again this year, shows how fickle the market can be. Just checked the list of latest major holdings posted on the company website on 0ct 3rd, it shows the major holders now accounting for only 23%. I think that's down from 28% the last time I looked. That would go some way to account for the downward pressure on the share price | mylands
19/10/2016 18:52 | Don;t start again you pair. | srpactive
19/10/2016 17:31 | I haven't bought any yet Brownie69 :-) | woodhawk
19/10/2016 16:59 | Invisage...Diogenes regrettably died a few years ago.A great loss. | nurdin
19/10/2016 16:54 | Dont read too much into short positions... total 1.64% declared shorts is hardly a massive downward pressure. Syqant capital shorted .51% at about £4 in jan this year. The bod are really going to drop the ball to put that position into profit.I expect the drop is due to incertainty around the mergers/take overs etc and gvc experianced the same drop before kenny told us it was a done deal and the savings that would be made. Waiting for the upward pressure to build and i will be topping up. Its futile trying to guess the bottom on the way down. | coppertrader |
