Fwiw. I have in the past compared the valuations of usa internet stocks that provide online services and have growth and profit with the valuation of GVC. Dyor imho

Judging by 888 share price today, they must believe they are well placed for US expansion too.

If the USA were to be in serious play - re TEB's post earlier - I would have thought GVC would be a prime potential acquisition for a US company - particularly so in view of the favourable exchange rate to a US enterprise. I trust Kenny would extract a fantastic deal on our behalf! Who might be in the frame?

I was being sarcastic re 'Good Samaritans', Mylands. I cannot fathom how the likes of Slippery, or anyone else for that matter, can possibly believe they have any effect whatsoever on a share price. Maybe they might have a momentary effect on an AIM minnow - but what IS the point? If anyone should be desperate enough to resort to such tactics, then clearly they aren't much cop as an investor/trader.

Indeed, Festario, the market giveth and it taketh away; not always rationally.
(forgive my lisp!).

Glad to see the share price recovering after being in the doldrums recently.
Good luck.

Mylands, now that we are back above 700p, it's safe to announce that that the likes of Slippery did nothing apart from allow me to accumulate more GVC shares at a bargain price.I need to learn this lesson more, on this and other shares.

You could also add the likes of Slippery on the other side of the fence to the good Samaritans, as you call them.

I ignore or filter those posters who are either obviously ramping or deramping. What bugs me is that the shorting posters do seem to have an effect at times but in the end a well run company like GVC will always win out

US regualtion news driving the sector - getting closer. Once one state goes many might follow and then PartyGaming is very well positioned.

Good be at £8 in a blink of an eye

Well done to you both. I need to keep hold of the rest of my savings so infrequent dips back in for me, especially with the div returning which will mean I have cash to reinvest, rather than sell other holdings.

Onwards and upwards!!!

Mylands, as I posted at the time, I bought continually on the way down, and emptied every account my wife and I have to do so.I bought at 590, 596, 603... etc, on the way back up too!I got lucky and that's not like me.However, I did intend to sell around the 670p level to replenish some of the accounts I plundered, but as usual with GVC, I couldn't bring myself to do that.I still have 90% of the extra I've being buying.... the other 10% went into another gaming stock, PCGE, as a punt.

No, Mylands - I didn't. I had already used up my available funds by then! I didn't actually believe that the share price would go that low. Nevertheless, I did reinvest heavily just north of 600p. I seem to be much better at calling tops than bottoms - although I am trying to stop my enthusiasm getting the better of me (not only with GVC!) and I think I'm improving. No one can hope to be 'right' all the time, but I aim to be 'right' more often than I'm 'wrong'. I am not a passive investor, I will attempt to play the major swings whenever I think it worthwhile.

Well that’s pleasing. Not too spikey - just right. 710p was a former resistance level so sitting just nice tonight. Well happy with that.

. . . Hoping tomorrow takes it no further than the v high teens; if it can make it that far. I wouldn’t be keen on seeing it well into 720p’s tomorrow - at this stage. Save that for next week. Relative Strength Index for one (with Stochastics for another) are well into the upper half but with a bit of oomph still left in the tank before it crosses into overbought.

. . . Tonight however, it’s now clearly got 2 support levels behind it; thus it should (hopefully) make sliding back under near-700p retrace a lot more difficult than it’s been hitherto. Nice bit of momentum today - and all week if you excuse the bad case of hiccups the other day.

. . . Steady stages; a resistance point bested per day or better still, take two days to do it (and no dodgy spiking-up, knocking out a handful of resistance levels in one day showing off, like some excitable mad thing Rambo) is the way to go, that suits best

Seeing you sold at the top, did you manage to buy at the bottom of the dip, 588p? Now that would have been really clever, which I'm not!

Some of my portfolio is income and some growth, still
happy to hold aly. I reinvest my dividend into the next dividend
stock and on, and on, so whilst paying, okay, when not, not. It
is like rent, houses go up and down in value.

My gvc target is 800p as I mentioned the other day.

I see that I sold at 779p on 21 September last year - pretty much the previous high. So that's my short term target for your handle, active! Sometime after the results? Or maybe before? As usual I expect we'll get a corking set of figures, with news of the next divi... Kenny hasn't disappointed yet. And if estimates of the 2017 divi are correct, I reckon a share price of 800-900p is achievable by this year's end.
