Big volume, maybe some short closing but more importantly based on the volumes there must be plenty of genuine buying interest.

This could fly now as I suspect that all nervous/weak holders got out during the retrenchment.

700p is the new 600p, well soon!

And Numis upgraded from Hold and 760p to Buy and 765p. The extra 5p really swung it (although in reality, probably in line with the general thinking here i.e. wait for results before buying more)

Last line in RNS: "We are excited about the organic opportunities for the Group in 2017 and beyond, BUT ALSO REMAIN ALIVE TO FURTHER INDUSTRY CONSOLIDATION."

. . . . . . . . . The first part clearly states 2017 so the ending - possible further acquisition this year if oppourtunity presents? Or perhaps too soon and if so meant for the 'and beyond' bit.

Nice start to February. Personally I will regard normal service as being resumed when 700p is regarded by one and all as the new bottom. If shorters don't all have algorythms in use and haven't closed this morning, then there's that bonus to come as they buy and close, or at least reduce.

888 are actually trading at 15x forecast earnings for 2017 and yield 5%.But the earnings growth this year will be modest at 14% compared to GVCs 73% !

Cenkos, the house broker, has come out with a target price of 1125p, the highest I have seen. Now, I am not greedy and am only looking for 800p plus.

Was it you Festario who said he thought the trading update would come at the same time as confirmation of the repayment of the Cerberus loan? If so, well done on reading the tea leaves correctly!

I can't think of another company that consistently comes out with good trading updates, year after year. I can't ask for anything more. It's a shame the market, for reasons that still I can't understand, does not gives this the rating it deserves and continues to rate it cheaply compared to the sector. According to ADVFN GVC has a p/e of 11 and PPB p/e of 30 and 888 a p/e of 35!

A great update by the way. Never in doubt knowing the way GVC is run. I just wish the market would start to credit the company now with a normal rating, its still got to be the cheapest in the sector despite huge progress and never a wrong step.
