Just speculating.

DNO ingratiating themselves with the KRG by drilling.

DNO already in the Country and having KRG approval for their earlier offer.

DNO being used to the bent gang running the place.

DNO Tawke reserves not looking brilliant, they must want more.

I suspect a new offer for GKP may be coming, better than the first one but well below the expectations of many on here. However it won't need to be very high to gain the acceptance of the ex-bondholders. JF may talk of "Sensible offers", but neither he nor the board will have the power to make the decision, just as we won't.

DNO may seek a partner so as to make it an all cash offer. Sinopec?

There are new Reserves figures out this morning for Tawke. A comparison against Shaikan, on the current CPR numbers, is perhaps worthwhile.

Shaikan

2P Reserves 622 million barrels
2C Resources 239 million barrels
2P + 2C = 861 million barrels


Tawke

2P Reserves 504 million barrels
2C Resources 100 million barrels
2P + 2C = 604 million barrels


This confirms what John Hurst the former head of exploration at BP said: "Shaikan is second only to Kirkuk" in Kurdistan.

Shaikan is of course only at an early ("Phase Zero") stage of development, and the Tawke production is significantly higher, having produced 39 million barrels last year. Shaikan is running at about one-third of that level because no development work has been done since the current facilities were installed some years ago.
