marvelman - definitely at some price it is a good buy, I just struggle to be sure of what that is. Perhaps it will be more obvious with hindsight. I don't think I would buy above 67, but if I held I wouldn't sell at the price either.

Yup it seems GIC have nabbed it just as it was really ramping up capacity. I expect management will get a good deal.

Yes, I guess in hindsight they held the chips and played them well. Well it was a great recovery story while it lasted.

Looks like a good deal for GIC rather than share holders. I purchased Tungsten corp TUNG shares with proceeds from Greenko. Recent director buys and news due on Joint venture. Dyor

I bought in here when share price was much higher, then sold some time back as:

1) I didn'tknow how to value the co' when factoring sister co's and future semi-agreed share mergers.

2) As WJ' says above, I felt much of the value was not the co' but the management team, setting up new projects for newcomers/big investors.
If they walk to another co, where would that leave GKO?

3) I make a keen distinction to myself between investing and gambling. Normally you know what a co has, and the only guesswork it where future business/income lies. Here the current position,be that now, 3months ago, 12 months ago is smokey - as Cestnous says.

4) The headlines for co are typically how much MW of power has been added, but this 'target figure' is not put in context with the new money coming in, watering down the returns for the longer term share holders.

My mates thought I was mad/brave investing in a co with activities India based. That doesn't worry me, but 1)-4) does (as I have posted in the past).

There seems to be an unwritten rule about not posting negative comments on threads, but at same time I wouldn't want fellow board members to take risks where return is not justified.

So, please double check your own stratagy/calculations/returns and crucially(IMO), big risk factor on this one, to ask yourself, 'Is it worth it'.

All IMO, DYOR. :-)

No arbitrage opportunity here. Firstly the deal is not final - but well done all parties on getting it into the public domain. Secondly it is a mystery to everyone, and I suspect everyone is accurate in this case, how much has to come off the top line.

Took my profits too, cestnous. Maybe a counter offer could appear but theres no clarity on how much this lot could be...

Well sold anyway. Not worth holding anymore for a few more pence. Not sure if the journey from 41p to 91p was good for my health but it helped me to keeping my wife in style she feels she is accustomed to. My very best wishes to all remaining and my thanks to all contributors for their time and input. This has been a very good thread.

Bought @ 47p sold this am @ 88p. Don't like this deal, the bad wording of the rns which just left me guessing. Should have been a lot more transparent imo. Could be a mistake but just smells iffy. Best of luck to all holders. WTFDIK?

Ture, but it is before transaction costs, taxes and running costs. Assume transaction/running costs of 3-5% gives £155mm to 158mm so 21% upside. No idea on Indian taxation.

It looks more like management jumping ship to the new entity than a particularly good deal for shareholders but maybe they were over a barrel?

With GIC owning 32% of the operating subsidiary, I doubt a counterbid is possible.

A counter bid is more than a possibility. The purchase price values the company at just over a £1.00 per share.

Well its a 27% premium on the current market cap so certainly has some upside.

Don't understand the announcement and what worries me is that it seems to be written with that intent, unless the author is just plain stupid.

Current market cap is only 128m. Are we effectively selling the company? Is there anything leftover? What a dreadfully worded rns!

Henry...spot on. Hard to believe you could have bought them at 41p not so long ago. Getting past the point of being such a huge dilution issue as the solution is much more manageable now the panic has settled and share price has revived.

This could be back above 100p quite quickly now it's broken out of the 70p capped range and downtrend resistance in place since last September. Looking good.

the higher the share price the less of an issue the dilution becomes.

No update on the dilution issues?...That is quite an important aread before any medium term progress I think (unless insiders are leaking it already?)
