29/12/2016 17:28 | That is an interesting example of globalisation not working efficiently. The Auditors are part of an international network of some 200 independent firms but all trading under the umbrella of Crowe Howarth. it seems to be a USA set-up. World Headquarters Crowe Horwath International 488 Madison Avenue Suite 1200 New York, NY 10022-5722 UNITED STATES One of these firms is in the UK. This is the firm which was required to sign off the accounts for this British registered company. Crowe Clark Whitehill (London) Ltd 52 Jermyn Street London SW1Y 6LX However, the firm which actually did the local audit is based in Malaysia. Crowe Horwath International Level 16 Tower C, Megan Avenue II 12 Jalan Yap Kwan Seng 50450 Kuala Lumpur MALAYSIA What the Board of Directors are hinting is that the 'difficulties' in preparing the accounts were in part because of a break down in communications between the London auditors and the connected firm of auditors in Malaysia. " Auditor limitations Regarding the auditor's comments that it was not able to obtain all the information and explanations considered necessary for the purpose of its audit, the Company confirms that all information was provided to the auditor's partner company Crowe Clark Whitehill Malaysia, who carried out the audit in situ. However, the Company notes that Crowe Clark Whitehill in London was responsible for signing off the accounts and therefore must acknowledge certain limitations as the final signatory." This rather suggests that GRPH needs to look for new auditors which can both conduct a local audit and can sign off reports. | leedskier
28/12/2016 11:39 | Useful article on shale drilling in South West China (where GRPH/Scomi's contract to supply is). 'Suffering from exceptionally high levels of air pollution, China is committed to moving away from coal, which currently accounts for 64 percent of the country’s energy, to much cleaner natural gas. Developing the country’s huge shale resources – estimated by the EIA at 1,115 trillion cubic feet – is one way of achieving this target.' | leedskier

28/12/2016 09:28 | 27 March 2015 Graphene NanoChem PLC ("Graphene NanoChem" or the "Group") Readily Biodegradable Result of The PlatDrill Series Graphene NanoChem (AIM: GRPH), the performance nanochemicals and advanced materials company, is pleased to announce that after 9 months of independent testing of the PlatDrill Series by the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research - National Institute of Oceanography, India, a world renowned oil and gas research facility, it has concluded that at 84.81%, the biodegradation level of the PlatDrill Series is ~25% higher than the standard specified by the OECD guidelines. Based on this biodegradation rate the PlatDrill Series has been classified as "readily" biodegradable with a non-toxic ranking. As offshore oil exploration increases, water and environmental contamination risks arising from the increased use of drilling fluids, gas and discharge of drilling waste mud and drill cuttings into the marine environment has resulted in more stringent environmental restrictions in the chemicals and substances used for drilling. Biodegradation is an important characteristic of drilling fluids to ensure that the fluids do not persist in the environment for long periods of time and how quickly the site recovers from its discharge particularly for offshore drilling. "Readily" biodegradable refers to a substance that degrades efficiently and completely. The readily biodegradable classification and non-toxic ranking of the PlatDrill Series enables the Group to meet the technical and environmental performance of modern days drilling requirements, helping the industry reduce its environmental risks and overall drilling costs from waste treatment savings. In addition, it also enables the potential market expansion of the PlatDrill Series into the highly environmentally regulated market such as the Gulf of Mexico. Jespal Deol, Chief Executive Officer of Graphene NanoChem, commented: "The combined strength of the performance of our PlatDrill Series and its superior environmental profile is providing the Group a unique competitive advantage in the market as well as reinforcing the Group's commitment in providing green solutions to the industry." | leedskier
28/12/2016 09:26 | Drilling Fluids The PlatDrill™ Series is a new generation of high performance drilling fluids designed and tested to satisfy the demanding technical, as well as increasingly stringent environmental, requirements of modern day drilling. PlatDrill™ “smartfluid&rd The use of PlatDrill™ fluids system in drilling operations can: reduce well formation damage; produce thinner filter cakes; reduce fluid loss into rock formation pores; preserve original rock formation pressure; reduce wear on drilling tools; reduce negative impact to the environment. | leedskier
